Dr. Gidi Stein heard the stry and felt frced t d smething. “It was like killing smene with a spelling errr. He just clicked n the wrng buttn…Stein said. “One wuld have thught there’d be sme kind f spell-checker t prevent these terrible things frm happening. But apparently this is nt the case.”
Several things were immediately bvius t the 54-year-ld Stein, wh had previusly studied cmputer science. “If yu lk at this prblem frm a bird’s eye view, there were s many places dwn the line where this decisin culd have been stpped-frm the physician t the pharmacy (藥房) even t the mther. All f them had all the relevant infrmatin t have the judgment that this was just the wrng drug fr the wrng patient. Fr Stein, it represented a systematic failure.
Stein cmpared this with credit cards. “If yu use yur credit card in the daily rutine ver time, a pattern emerges f hw we use ur cards : the grcery stre, the gas statin in ur lcal twn. If yur credit card wuld appear tmrrw in Zimbabwe, it wuld be unusual. The credit card cmpany wuld call yu and say, “‘Hey, was that yu?’”
But nthing like that existed in the field f prescriptin drugs. S Stein set up a cmpany called MedAware. He came up with a machine learning utliner detectin system. In ther wrds, he trained the cmputers t realize if a dctr accidentally prescribed the wrng medicine.

Rbert Friedman, wh was in the business f buying and selling pians, recently shwed ff marks n a pian that was nce wned by Edisn. The pian had grups f small marks abve the keybard. He was surprised by the tth marks left by the inventr f the phngraph (留聲機(jī)) , a music playing device.
Edisn invented the phngraph in 1877. Edisn ever asked fr the pian at the lwest price. When he bught the pian and put it in the lab, he was experimenting with sund recrding. He wned the instrument fr many years, s it was pssibly used in early recrdings.
There aren’t phtgraphs f Edisn biting this pian. But he was thught t bite int phngraphs and pians t help him experience music as his hearing wrsened. His daughter nce remembered that a guest cried n the spt at the sight f Edisn biting int a pian as smene played it.
Friedman calls himself the pian hunter. He finds and buys the famus pians frm peple and then sells them, usually t dealers. But this pian is mre cmplex. He is nw lking fr the right hme fr the instrument. Friedman says that he believes that it belngs t smeplace where many peple can see it. Friedman des nt want it t g back int private hands because f its cnnectin t Edisn. He has t find a histrical grup that will buy the pian, which he is ffering t sell fr what it cst him.

A lunar crystal (水晶) was fund in lunar basalt particles (玄武巖顆粒) cllected frm the mn in 2020 when the Chinese mn missin landed in Oceanus Prcellarum, returning with mre than 1.7 kg f lunar samples delivered safely t the Earth.
The crystal fund n the near side f the mn is giving scientists hpe f prviding limitless pwer fr the wrld frever. It is made f material previusly unknwn t the scientific cmmunity and cntains a key ingredient fr the nuclear fusin (核聚變) prcess, a frm f pwer generatin that uses the same frces that fuel the sun and ther stars. It is transparent and rughly the width f a single human hair, and it frmed in a regin f the mn where vlcanes were active arund 1.2 billin years ag.
One f the primary ingredients fund in this crystal is helium-3 (氦-3) , which scientists believe may prvide a stable fuel surce fr nuclear fusin reactrs. The element is incredibly rare n the Earth, but it seems t be fairly cmmn n the mn. China’s next mn missin is expected t be carried ut by Chang’e 6 in 2024, which will attempt t cllect the first samples frm the far side f the mn, which never faces the Earth.
Althugh it is t early fr scientists t have made financial estimates n such a fuel surce, it will undubtedly be extremely cstly. There is, f curse, the matter f bringing the crystals back frm the mn, especially in large amunts that are needed t fuel fusin reactrs.
Helium-3 prduces significantly less radiatin and nuclear waste than ther elements. The current nuclear fusin prcess has raised serius safety cncerns, and as a result, scientists have been searching fr a way t create nuclear pwer frm nuclear fusin. During the fusin prcess, radiactive waste is nt prduced, ptentially making a securer and mre efficient fuel surce.
Arund 25 tns f helium-3 culd pwer the US fr a year. Multiple private cmpanies and cuntries with space agencies have signaled their intentins t mine the mn fr helium-3, and this latest discvery culd kick start the race.

A.Cllect up nuclear waste.
B.Find ut the elements f helium-3.
C.Set up lunar nuclear fusin reactrs.
D.Take back the samples f lunar crystals.
14.What is helium-3 as fuel expected t be like?
A.It is lw in cst.B.It is clean and safe.
C.It absrbs radiatin.D.It prduces n waste.
15.What is the best title fr the text?
A.A Struggling Race t Make Crystals
B.An Undubted Discvery Pwering the US
