Antarctica (南極洲) is a great, icy land, surrunded by the huge Suthern Ocean. The ice in Antarctica desn’t just cver the land. There’s als a large area f sea ice, which flats (漂浮) n the cean’s surface.

由第三段中“Nw, fr several years, the area f Antartica’s sea ice has been getting smaller. This year, the US Natinal Snw and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) reprted that Antartica’s sea ice reached its maximum n September 10 — almst tw weeks earlier than nrmal. And the sea ice was at a new recrd lw — nt just by a little bit, but by a lt.
由第四段“The last time Antartica’s lw sea ice set a recrd at the end f winter was in 1986. And this year, there’s abut 1.03 millin square kilmeters less sea ice than in 1986. It’s hard t picture such a large area, but it’s arund 1.6 times the size f France.
由倒數(shù)第二段中Ted Scambs說(shuō)的話“Antarctica’s ice levels have always changed sme, but the situatin this year is pinting twards warmer cean cnditins arund the area.”(南極洲的冰平面總是有一些變化,但今年的情況表明,該地區(qū)周圍的海洋條件更加溫暖)”可知,Ted Scambs認(rèn)為氣溫上升導(dǎo)致了南極洲的變化。
由最后一段中“The sea ice is imprtant, because it helps cl the planet. When it’s frzen, sea ice reflects sunlight back ut int space. But when the sea ice melts (融化), the water left behind is darker, and takes in and keeps mre heat. 故選A項(xiàng)。

36.【F】依據(jù)上一句“Mst f us think that creativity is a quality (品質(zhì)) belnging nly t artists, writers, r dancers, rather than urselves.(我們大多數(shù)人認(rèn)為創(chuàng)造力只是藝術(shù)家、作家或舞蹈家的一種品質(zhì),而不是我們自己的。)”可知,很多人認(rèn)為創(chuàng)造力只屬于藝術(shù)家、作家或舞蹈家,后面建議我們?nèi)绾闻囵B(yǎng)創(chuàng)造力,由此可推斷出本句是講每個(gè)人都有創(chuàng)造力,F(xiàn)選項(xiàng)“The truth is that we are all bm with the ability t be creative.(事實(shí)上,我們生來(lái)就有創(chuàng)造的能力。)”
37.【E】空前“As said earlier, the human brain was designed t recgnize patterns.(如前所述,人類的大腦是用來(lái)識(shí)別模式的)”說(shuō)明大腦是用來(lái)識(shí)別模式的,因此空格處應(yīng)該說(shuō)我們可以創(chuàng)造模式,E選項(xiàng)“We cntinue t create patterns fr almst everything we d.(我們繼續(xù)為我們所做的幾乎所有事情創(chuàng)造模式。)”
38.【D】由本段小標(biāo)題“Try different things(嘗試不同的東西)”可知,本段主要講述的是嘗試做一些改變,D項(xiàng)“If yu nrmally eat in the ffice, have lunch under a tree.(如果你通常在辦公室吃午飯,那就在樹(shù)下吃吧)”是一種改變,符合本段主旨,且與上文“If yu usually drive t wrk, take the subway fr a few days.
39.【A】空處是本段的小標(biāo)題,由空格下方的“Having a great idea is nt enugh, yu must wrk t make it a reality. 和“If yu can put them int practice, yu are well n yur way t imprving yur creativity in all areas f yur life.(如果你能把它們付諸實(shí)踐,你就能很好地在生活的各個(gè)方面提高你的創(chuàng)造力。)”可知,本段主要講的是要行動(dòng)起來(lái),把一些好的想法變成現(xiàn)實(shí),A選項(xiàng)“Take actin(采取行動(dòng))”說(shuō)明要采取行動(dòng),因此概括本段內(nèi)容,可作為小標(biāo)題,故選A。
40.【G】根據(jù)下文中的“The difference between a dreamer and a der is actin.(夢(mèng)想家和實(shí)干家的區(qū)別在于行動(dòng))”可知,夢(mèng)想家只是想一想,而實(shí)干家不但想還去做,G選項(xiàng)“We all have great ideas smetimes, but nly a few peple turn their ideas int realities.(我們都有偉大的想法,但只有少數(shù)人把他們的想法變成現(xiàn)實(shí)。)”
