根據(jù)文章第一段“I remember the days when we had a quick meal in the car after wrk and tried t figure ut which sccer game, basketball game, r family event we were driving twards. (2024-2025學年江蘇省南京市第一中學高一上學期第一次月考英語試題)Rald Hffmann, a Nbel Prize winner in chemistry, pet and playwright(劇作家), is a tireless advcate f the wnders f science and the beauty f chemistry. Hffmann successfully shares his understanding f science with the public at large thrugh literature, educatinal televisin and even the stage. Here is an article he wrte:
Arund the time f the Industrial Revlutin, science left petry. Nature and the persnal became the main playgrund f the pet. That’s t bad fr bth scientists and pets, but it leaves lts f pen grund fr thse f us wh can mve between the tw. If ne can write petry abut being a tree, why nt abut being a scientist? It’s experience, a way f life. It’s exciting.
The language f science is a language under stress. Wrds are being made t describe things that seem indescribable in wrds — equatins(方程式), chemical structures and s frth. Wrds d nt, cannt mean all that they stand fr, yet they are all we have t describe experience. By being a natural language under tensin, the language f science is inherently(內(nèi)在地) petic. Emtins emerge shaped as states f matter and mre interestingly, matter acts ut what ges n in the sul.
One thing is certainly nt true: that scientists have sme greater insight int the wrkings f nature than pets. Interestingly, I find that many humanists deep dwn feel that scientists have such inner knwledge that they dn’t. Perhaps we scientists d, but in such carefully circumscribed pieces f the universe, petry flies high, all arund the tangible(有形的), in the deep dark, thrugh a wrld we reveal and make.
It shuld be said that building a career in petry is much harder than in science. In the best chemical jurnal in the wrld, the acceptance rate fr full articles is 65%, fr cmmunicatins 35%. In a rutine literary jurnal, far frm the best, the acceptance rate fr pems is belw 5%.
Writing has becme increasingly imprtant t me. I expect t publish fur bks fr a general r literary audience in the next few years. Science will be invlved, but nly as a part, a vital part, f the risky prject f being human.
28. What des the underlined wrd “it” in paragraph 2 refer t?
A. A way f life. B. The Industrial Revlutin.
C. The main playgrund f the pet. D. The separatin f science frm petry.
29. What can we learn abut science language?
A. Humanists never use it.B. It shws scientists' emtins.
C. It is a special way f descriptin.D. Its wrds stand fr everything.
30. What methd des Rald Hffmann mainly use t develp the text?
A. Cmparisn and cntrast.B. Giving examples.
C. Cause and effect.D. Prblem and slutin.
31. What may be the best title fr the text?
A. The Science f PetryB. The Petic Nature f Science
C. The Difference f Nature and ArtD. The Develpment f Science Language
D 29. C 30. A 31. B
根據(jù)劃線詞上文“Arund the time f the Industrial Revlutin, science left petry. Nature and the persnal became the main playgrund f the pet. That’s t bad fr bth scientists and pets (在工業(yè)革命前后,科學留下了詩歌。自然和個人成了詩人的主要活動場所。這對科學家和詩人來說都太糟糕了)”以及后文“If ne can write petry abut being a tree, why nt abut being a scientist? (如果一個人可以寫關(guān)于成為一棵樹的詩,為什么不能寫關(guān)于成為科學家的詩呢?)”可知,科學和詩歌分離對于科學家和詩人來說都太糟糕了,但科學和詩歌分離為我們這些可以在兩者之間移動的人留下了很多開放的空間。故劃線詞指的是“科學與詩歌的分離”。故選D。
29. 細節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)第三段“Wrds are being made t describe things that seem indescribable in wrds - equatins (方程式), chemical structures and s frth. Wrds d nt, cannt mean all that they stand fr, yet they are all we have t describe experience. By being a natural language under tensin, the language f science is inherently (內(nèi)在地) petic.(語言被用來描述那些似乎無法用語言描述的事物——方程式、化學結(jié)構(gòu)等等。詞語并不,也不可能代表它們所代表的一切,但它們是我們用來描述經(jīng)驗的全部。作為一種張力下的自然語言,科學語言具有內(nèi)在的詩意。)”可知,科學語言是一種特殊的描述方式。故選C。
30. 推理判斷題。根據(jù)第四段“One thing is certainly nt true: that scientists have sme greater insight int the wrkings f nature than pets.(有一件事肯定是不正確的:科學家對自然的運作比詩人更有洞察力。)”以及第五段“It shuld be said that building a career in petry is much harder than in science.(應(yīng)該說,從事詩歌事業(yè)要比從事科學事業(yè)難得多。)” 故選A。

(2024-2025學年山西省高一上學期11月期中英語試題)Drinking sme alchl(酒) was nce thught t have benefits fr the heart, but better research methds have thrwn cld water n that. “Drinking less is a great way t be healthier,” said Dr. Timthy Naimi, wh directs the Canadian Institute fr Substance Use Research at the University f Victria in British Clumbia.
Guidelines vary a lt frm cuntry t cuntry but the verall trend is tward drinking less. The United Kingdm, France, Denmark, Hlland and Australia recently reviewed new evidence and lwered their alchl cnsumptin recmmendatins. Ireland will require cancer warning labels n alchl starting in 2026.

Hw many drinks can yu have per day? That depends. Drinking raises the risk f several types f cancer, including cln, liver, breast and muth and thrat. Alchl breaks dwn in the bdy int a substance called acetaldehyde, which can damage yur cells and stp them frm repairing themselves. That creates the cnditins fr cancer t grw.
“Thusands f US deaths per year culd be prevented if peple fllwed the gvernment’s dietary guidelines, which advise men t limit themselves t tw drinks r fewer per day and wmen t ne drink r fewer per day,” Naimi said. One drink is the equivalent f abut ne12 - unce(盎司) can f beer, a 5 - unce glass f wine r a sht f liqur.
Naimi served n an advisry cmmittee that wanted t lwer the recmmendatin fr men t ne drink per day. That advice was cnsidered and rejected when the federal recmmendatins came ut in 2020. “The simple message that’s best supprted by the evidence is that, if yu drink, less is better when it cmes t health,” Naimi said.
32. What is Tessa Weber’s attitude t the new guideline n alchl drinking?
A. Psitive.B. Dubtful.C. Uncncerned.D. Unclear.
