The earth is a very special planet, and it faces a big prblem. In the year 2010, the wrld’s ppulatin was ver 7 billin in ttal. It is increasing very quickly. By 2025, the wrld may have abut 8 billin peple. And by 2050, the wrld’s ppulatin may reach 9 billin.There is anther prblem. Peple can’t live everywhere n the earth. We can’t live in water,
and nly abut ne third f ur planet is land. But parts f this land are very dry. These dry places are called deserts. Sme areas have very high muntains. Others have a lt f snw and ice. It is nt easy t live in thse places.There are seven cntinents: Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica, Eurpe, Nrth America and Suth America. Antarctica is cvered with
snw and ice all year rund. Luckily, peple can live n the ther six cntinents. On these cntinents, there are green frests, fresh water and rich lands.Oceans cver tw thirds f the earth’s surface. The earth has nly ne big cean, but we use these names fr its different parts: the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean
and the Arctic Ocean. The Pacific Ocean is the largest ne.The earth is ur hme nw, and it will be ur hme in the future. It must be treated well fr ur children and fr ur children’s children, t!
