After a week, the prtrait was dne and the wman came t take the painting. At this mment, she hit n an evil idea f bullying the unknwn yung artist. She thught, “The prtrait is me. If I dn’t buy the painting, nbdy will buy it. Why shuld I pay s much mney?” S the wman said t the yung painter, “I will nly pay 200 dllars fr it.”
The yung man was surprised, fr he had never cme acrss such an experience. He strngly argued with her, expecting this wman t keep t the agreement.
“I can nly pay 200 dllars t buy the painting,” the wman thught she culd win fr sure.
The yung painter knew the wman brke her prmise n purpse, s he felt annyed. He said in a firm vice, “N, I wuld prefer t keep this painting rather than be humiliated(羞辱) by yu. Tday yu break yur wrd and sme day yu must pay 20 times fr it.”
“What a jke! 20 times will be 40,000! I wn’t be stupid t pay 40,000 dllars t buy the painting!”
“Well, we’d better wait and see,” the yung artist shuted t the wman wh left angrily. After the stimulatin(刺激) f such an incident, the painter mved ut f this sad place, studied under acknwledged teachers and wrked hard day and night. Mre than a dzen years later, he finally started a new way and became ppular in the circle f art. Hwever, the wman had frgtten the artist’s painting and wrds the next day. next day.

Befre the wman culd pay her mney, the painter explained that it was a gift fr her, hping she wuld be an hnest wman withut vanity. Anyway, fr the painter, it was this incident that made him what he was tday.
