When I pen an ld bk and cme acrss my previusly scribbled ntes — shaky nes when I’ve been reading n the subway, cvered in sand if I read it at the beach, next t a train ticket if I was traveling — I am able t add an extra level f persnal depth and experience t the stry I am abut t reread. It’s just nt enugh t simply cnsuming the stry, which is what e-readers are great fr.
When I read paper bks, I hld nt them fr lng perids f time. I just purchased a new bkshelf specially fr my “t be read” pile. Once in a while, I g thrugh the prcess f deciding which bks t dnate (捐贈), but usually the idea f parting with a bk feels like giving away a part f my sul (靈魂).
Physical bks may nt be the mst efficient medium, but they are the mst meaningful. S keep yur Kindle, by all means. But I’ll be happy harding (貯存，聚藏) with my library.
