The study by University f Arizna researchers, published in the Creativity Research Jurnal, finds that creative peple are mre likely t fruitfully use idle (空閑的) time by letting ne idea lead t anther.
“In psychlgy and neurscience, mst studies n human thughts either prmpt (提示) participants t think in a certain way r ask them t reprt n thughts they experienced, but less is knwn abut hw thughts naturally arise and unfld ver time in unprmpted cntexts,” said Jessica Andrews-Hanna, an assciate prfessr in the Department f Psychlgy and senir authr f the paper. “This is where ur study cmes in.”
The researchers divided the study int tw parts. Fr the first experiment, the researchers asked each participant t sit alne in a rm fr 10 minutes withut any access t digital devices. In the absence f any particular prmpt, the participants were asked t vice their thughts alud in real time. The recrded files frm 81 participants were then transcribed (轉(zhuǎn)錄) and analyzed.
