Step 1: Pre-reading①

2. Farewell parties.
Present sme pictures f different farewell parties. Present the new wrd “farewell”. Teach the new wrd. (課件出示:各種告別聚會圖片及單詞farewell)
T: It is time t leave ur schl. We are ging t middle schl sn, s we will say gdbye t each ther. We are ging t have a…party.
Ss: A farewell party.
3. Lead-in.
Present an invitatin. (課件出示:邀請函)
T: Can yu guess the meaning f “invitatin” thrugh the picture? Let’s learn the new wrd “invitatin”. Lk! Mike has gt an invitatin. Wh is the invitatin frm? What is the invitatin abut? Lead students t make predictins.

以各式各樣的送別會圖片創(chuàng)設情境,引出本課的主題詞匯farewell party和invitatin。通過設置兩個問題,幫助學生建立文本閱讀的背景基礎,讓學生先預測有關本課invitatin的來源和主題。

(1) Students read after the recrding and underline the key infrmatin f “wh, when, where and what” in the invitatin while reading. Fill in the blanks accrding t the invitatin. Try t get sme basic infrmatin abut the invitatin.

先快速閱讀,整體感知,檢測剛才的預測是否正確,明確邀請函的邀請方和主題內容。再通過仔細閱讀,獲得更多細節(jié)信息,了解送別會的參與者、時間、地點和具體活動。通過拓展聽力材料,進一步了解Mike的哪些朋友會參與送別會。
Step 3: Pst-reading③
1. Elements in a reply.
Present the reply belw the invitatin. (課件出示:Write a reply圖片)
Lead students t read and bserve the reply carefully.
T: What elements are there in a reply? What infrmatin d we need t reply? Discuss in grups, and then share yur answers. Pay attentin t the sentence structure f the simple future tense. We can use “…will/be ging t…” We als need the infrmatin abut “wh, what, when and where”.
2. Write a reply.
(1)Ask questins.
T: If yu are Mike, are yu ging t the party? What will yu d at the party? Brainstrm the activities yu can d at the farewell party.
(2)Let students write a reply t the schl. Chse several well-dne replies t share in class.
3. Design yur wn invitatin.
T: Wrk in grups. Chse a tpic and hld a party. Yu can have a birthday party, a New Year’s party, a Children’s Day party, r any ther party yu want t have. Design yur wn invitatin. Then share yur design.
