that/if/whether
當(dāng)賓語從句是陳述句時，用that引導(dǎo)，that無詞義，在從句中不充當(dāng)成分，在口語和非正式文體中常常省略。All the students think that Mr. Zhang is humrus.當(dāng)主句的主語是第一人稱（I，we），而且謂語動詞是think，guess， believe，suppse等時，如果賓語從句要表達否定意思，則一般將否定轉(zhuǎn)移到主句上來，即“否定前移”。I dn’t think the girl can d the wrk alne.
由that引導(dǎo)的賓語從句
當(dāng)賓語從句的語義相當(dāng)于一個一般疑問句時，常用if/whether引導(dǎo)，表示“是否”。if/ whether在句中不充當(dāng)句子成分，但不能省略。I wnder if/ whether yu want t attend the meeting.
由if/whether引導(dǎo)的賓語從句
一般情況下，二者沒有區(qū)別，可以互換。以下情況不可互換：whether之后緊跟r nt時，不可與if互換。Nbdy knws whether r nt it will rain tmrrw. 在介詞后只能用whether，不能用if。The by wrries abut whether he has brken his cmputer.與動詞不定式連用時，只能用whether ，不能用if。I can’t decide whether t g r t stay.

若主句為一般現(xiàn)在時，則賓語從句要根據(jù)情況選擇所需要的任何時態(tài)。He says ( that) she is in Lndn nw.He says ( that) she came t Lndn last mnth.若主句為一般過去時，則賓語從句也要用過去的某種時態(tài)。He knew ( that) she liked mncakes. He believed ( that) she wuld win the game.若賓語從句表示的是客觀真理、自然現(xiàn)象或是格言、諺語等，無論主句是什么時態(tài)，賓語從句都要用一般現(xiàn)在時。The teacher said that a gd beginning is half dne.
