As we all face the COVID-19, protecting ourselves is also protecting others. Here are some safety suggestions based on the Handbook for the Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19.
Kepp healthy habits
Keep good habits such as having a healthy diet and exercising regularly, as well as getting enough sleep.
This can improve your immune(免疫)system, making it less likely for you to get infected(感染的).
Open windows to let fresh air in
Do it three times a day for 15 minutes to half an hour each time.
You can only get infected if the virus(病毒)builds up in large amounts(數(shù)量). Opening windows can prevent the virus from building up.
Stay away from crowds
Don't go to crowded places. If you have to, wear a mask(口罩). And keep at least two meters away from other people, especially those who are coughing.
The virus can travel two meters in the air. Wearing masks can prevent it from reaching your face or mouth.
Wash hands properly
Remember to wash your hands with soap before eating, after going to the bathroom, coming home and touching animals.
Your hands might have touched things polluted by the virus. Washing your hands often can stop the virus from entering your body.

When an earthquake hit a small town, many houses fell down. After the earthquake, all the newspapers reported many stories about some of the families who were in trouble.
One Sunday, when I was reading a newspaper, a special picture touched me. It gave the clothing sizes of each family member. I thought that this would be a good chance to teach my children to help those who were less lucky than themselves. I said to my seven-year-old twins, Brad and Bret, and three-year-old Meghan, “We have so much, and these poor people now have nothing. We'll share what we have with them.”
I filled a box with foods and clothes. While I was doing this, I encouraged the boys to choose their toys and donate some of their less favorite things. Meghan watched quietly as the boys took out their old toys and games and put them together. Then she walked away. A few minutes later, she came back with Lucy, her much-loved doll. She put the doll on top of the other toys. “Oh, dear,” I said. “You don't have to give Lucy. You love her so much.” Meghan said, “Lucy makes me happy, Mommy. Maybe she'll make another little girl happy, too.”
I looked at Meghan for a long moment. She taught me a lesson. It's easy to give something that we don't want any more, but hard to give what we cherish(珍愛), isn't it?

C
This is the year 2070. Today is my fiftieth birthday, but I look like a person of eighty-five. I have serious kidney(腎臟)problems because I don't have enough water to drink. I'm afraid I don't have much time left to live. I'm already one of the oldest people in this society.
I remember when I was five years old, everything was very different. There were lots of trees in the parks. I could enjoy a shower for half an hour. At that time, women all had beautiful hair. Now, we have to shave(剃光)our heads to keep them clean without the use of water.
I remember there were “Save Water” warnings in many public places, but nobody paid attention. We believed water would last forever. Now, all the rivers and lakes are either dry or polluted. Water is much more expensive than gold and diamonds.
In the past, doctors suggested adults drink eight glasses of water a day. Nowadays, I am allowed half a glass only. Most people are weak and sick.
When my son asks me about my childhood, I tell him about how pleasant it was to fish in the rivers and how healthy people were. When he asks, “Why is there no clean water now?” I feel guilty(內(nèi)疚的). I belong to those people who simply turned a blind eye to all the warnings.
I hope the people living in the 2020s truly understand the importance of saving water.

Do you know the reason why we feel tired in the middle of a class? Maybe you would say it is because the teacher's class is boring. 36 Perhaps this is something you have not paid enough attention to or not yet noticed.
Purpose of sleep
37 Sleep helps our body heal(修復(fù)), grow, and stay healthy. It also gives us energy, so we can be active all day. Doctors and health scientists say: When you close your eyes and need to rest, sleep is just the very best! This is more than advice.
Sleep time
Enough sleep is important to us. How much sleep do we need? New-born babies sleep most of the time. They can sleep 20-22 hours a day. Children need 10-12 hours of sleep a day. Teenagers need 8-10 hours of sleep a day because they need lots of energy to grow into their adult(成人的)bodies. Grown-ups usually need 6-8 hours of sleep to keep active. 38 That is why old people sleep less than young people.
Interesting facts
Almost everyone has their dreams while they sleep, but not all of them can tell their dreams clearly when they wake up. 39 More surprisingly, some may even get up in their dreams and walk around. This is called “sleepwalking”. Are you a sleepwalker? Or, is there a sleepwalker around you?
40
It's not just people that love to snooze(打盹). In fact, many animals have unusual or surprising sleeping habits. Some animals, such as bears and hedgehogs, sleep all through winter. The swift is a very fast bird that can sleep while it flies! Cute koalas sleep around 18 hours a day. Giraffes don't need much sleep at all. They usually sleep standing up.

If nothing goes wrong, you will feel angry with the person who is looking at you. Eyes can speak, right?
Looking too long at someone may seem to be impolite. 69 sometimes things are different. If you wish to draw someone's attention, you may look at him or her for more than ten seconds.
