Each time my father returned home, he used to wave his arms and hugged me, kissing and tickling (咯吱) me. After dinner, he carried me on his shoulders for a walk with my mother. But unfortunately, one day he felt sick and was diagnosed (診斷) with a serious disease, causing his death. My father’s death was a big blow to me and my mother. Worse still, my mother developed the bad habit of taking drugs to get rid of sadness, which caused our life to become more and more difficult. Without my aunt’s help and support, I didn’t know what my life would be like.My memories of the past were interrupted by aunt's voice. My aunt kept talking over my mother, telling me that I could do ANYTHING I wanted with that money. So I did. I walked to the boy and his mother. I opened my mouth, saying, “Today is my birthday. My only present is 100 dollars. I'd like to give it to you. You can buy whatever you need most.” With these words, I handed the money to the boy. There were so many tears and thanks. My aunt and I understood how powerful it was to give the only present to others who needed the present more than I did. Now I didn’t have a present, but I was happy, for it was my most unforgettable birthday.
