Unit 5 Frist Aid＊注意：有時(shí)需要對(duì)單詞加以變化。What first-aid (技能；技藝) do you know of?The skin is an essential part of your body and is its largest (器官).Your skin acts as a barrier against disease, toxins, and the sun’s (光線).It also gives you your (觸覺).You can get burnt by a variety of things: hot liquids, (輻射), (酸) or other chemicals.These affect only the top few (毫米；千分之一米) of the skin. Examples include mild sunburn and burns caused by other (較小的) household incidents.These go below the top (層) of the skin. These burns cause very severe internal injuries and the (受害者) must go to the hospital at once.First-degree burns are dry, red and mildly (腫脹的).Second-degree burns have (水泡). Tissue (在…底下) can often be seen.Third-degree burns have little or no pain if (神經(jīng)) are damaged.Remove any clothes using scissors if necessary, unless you see the (織物；布料) sticking to the burnt skin.Cover the burnt area with a (松的) clean cloth. If the victim is suffering from third-degree burns, there is an (緊急的) need to take him/her to the hospital at once.It may reduce swelling and (減輕) discomfort.They let us ride along with some (急救醫(yī)生；護(hù)理人員).Chemical burns can even affect your internal organ if the chemicals are (吞下；咽下).
