It’s the closest to home. And it has the shortest waiting time.Master the superlatives.Learn to discuss preferences and make comparisons.2. Process & methods:Students will be able to discuss their preferences and make comparisons. Lead the students to do some listening practice.Get the students to do some pair work.3. Emotion, attitude & values: Students will learn to share their preferences with others.Lead the students to be the best.II. Teaching important points1.  Students can use the comparative and superlative to discuss their preferences.2.  Students can make comparisons.3. Master the words and the language points.III. Teaching difficult points1. Students can use comparative and superlative forms correctly. 2. Learn to make comparisons and discuss preferences.IV. Teaching aids PPT, a computer, papersV. Teaching ProcedureStep 1 Warm upLet’s enjoy an English conversation “Which chair is the most comfortable, A, B and C ?”between the teacher and a student called QiaoYekun. It’s easy to speak along with. Try to get Ss to be interested in this class. On the other hand, it can help to lead the students to be the best.Step 2 Presentation1. Show some fruits, vegetables and homework and let the students speak out the  comparatives and superlatives.2. Play a game called  “Who is the tallest/heaviest/thinnest/best in English , A, B  and C in my group?” to help the students to consolidate the comparatives and superlatives.3.Let’s discuss. Have a quick discussion about the students. In our class, who is the funniest student?In our class, who is the shiest student?In our class, who is the tallest student?In all the subjects, which is the most interesting subject?In all the subjects, which is the most difficult subject?T: According to the rules of comparatives, think about what are the changing rules of superlatives?Then get some students to share their ideas. (Give some information to help students)Step 3 Listening Teaching activity 2a     This activity gives students practice in understanding the target language in spoken English.1. Read the instructions. Tell students that they will hear two conversations talking about three cloth stores and radio stations.2. Ask the students to listen carefully and match the statements with the conversation.3.  Check the answers.Step 4 Practice & Consolidation1. Let’s compare. Show some pictures and information about cinemas. Ask students to make comparisons and discuss preferences.2. Pairwork. There are three clothes stores near your home. If you go shopping, which one  will you go to? (Show some pictures about the three clothing stores and let students make conversations according to the tips)3.Make up a conversation using the information above.A:I’m new in Laocheng. I want to have dinner and buy some fruits here. But I  don’t know where to go. Can you give me some advice? B: Sure. A: What’s the best restaurant/ supermarket in Laocheng ? B: I think .... is the best. A: Why do you think so? B: Well, it has......A:  What do you think of /How do you like the other restaurants/supermarkets?B: ......is the worst because......   Although....../......But /......However4. Recite the conversation in 2d. Ask students to find the comparatives and superlatives of the words given and answer the questions.5. Do some exercises and let students analyze.Step 5 Summary      In this class, we’ve learnt the new words and phrases. We did listening practice and learned the target language. What’s important, we’ve learnt to make comparisons and discuss preferences. Through pair work, we practiced our spoken English using what  we learnt today. Step 6 Homework1. Finish the papers.2. Do a survey about the best supermarket in your town.
