Students will show great interest in it. Furthermore , they have learnt a little about different festivals in primary school. So they will be active and willing to share something in class. All these above are the advantages of learning this article. So I think what the teacher should do is to introduce more knowledge about Halloween and give them more opportunities to practice what they will learn. Also this article helps students learn about western culture and know the differences between Chinese culture and American culture. I will design different activities to help students learn and make them take an active in them. That is “Learning by doing, learning by using”. Show a picture of Halloween and ask what about this picture? What festival is it? How much do you know about it?Anything else? PPT6 2. Present Wendys letter. Well you know little about it. Would you like to know more Halloween. Show some pictures about Halloween and teach the new words and phrases. (dress up, wear masks, paint their faces, special) PPT7-8 3. Listen and answer questions. You see, Halloween is very interesting. Do you want to know more about it.(1)When is Halloween? (2)What do people enjoy in the party?   PPT9 1. Read and complete the notes about Halloween. while listening, I made some notes, but some words are missing, can you help me complete it?Then check the answers.  2. Say something about Halloween with the notes.PPT10  1. Show a picture of Halloween about children.The children have lots of fun on Halloween. Look at the picture. They are happy. What are they going to do?PPT112. Enjoy a video.Really? Lets enjoy a video and find out.  PPT12 3. Show how to play the game. “Do you know how to play the game? Read Para3 and tell us. Then show pictures and explain how to play the game to Ss. Teach the new words and phrases at the same time.(knock on , shout, give sb. sth. as a treat, play a trick on)  PPT13 4. Retell how to play the game. PPT14   5. Play the game. How interesting! Do you want to play the game Have the students experience the game.   PPT15    1. True or False exercises. PPT16    2. Make up a conversationYour father also wants to know about Halloween. Will you answer his questions?PPT17 Then ask several pairs to act it out. Ss talk with the teacher and answer the question.  Ss will be encouraged to guess why the teacher likes October best. (learn like sth. best)   Tell the festivals they know and how people celebrate it.       Ss: HalloweenSs: make pumpkin lanterns and share information about Halloween  Ss: Yes. Ss look at the pictures and try to  understand the meanings of new words .    Ss will be required to listen to the article  and get the answers to the questions.   Ss read Para1 and 2 ,then complete the notes    Retell Para1 and 2    Ss will have a guess      Help the Ss answer play trick or treat  Ss attention will be attracted to Para 2. they read and focus on how to play the game.  Read the new words and phrases , try to understand them With the help of the key verbs, tell how to play the game.  Play the game in groups with the masks and candy      Tell whether the sentences are true or false . If it is false, try to correct the mistakes. In pairs, students make up a conversation with the help of the model Get the students ready for the new lesson. Games can arouse their  interest. Help students revise the festivals.     Students will be familiar with these pictures and willing to speak.  Lead into today topic     Students will be interested in these beautiful pictures and it is easy for them to understand the new phrases with the help of pictures.  To develop the students ability of listening.    Develop students  ability of skimming To help the students consolidate What was learnt just now    To arouse students interest and lead into the game trick or treat      Develop students ability of skimming      Give them more time to practise  A short break and make ss active , get ready for the next step   Test  students and make sure they have known Halloween well  Develop the students skill of asking and answering questions. Learning by using 家庭作業(yè) Remember the words and phrases in the article.Read and retell the article板書(shū)設(shè)計(jì)       7A Unit5 Lets celebrate    Halloween New words and phrases      like ……best = my favorite      pumpkin lanterns     special dress up     wear masks     paint their faces     trick      treat     knock     inside(write the sounds of red letters beside each word)  How to play the game  Visit -----knock on ---- shout ---- give as a treat------play a trick on    教學(xué)反思In my lesson , I designed a few activities step from the easy to the difficult step by step and I also used some different teaching methods so as to achieve the teaching goals. And the multi-media teaching aids provided more concrete and audio-video information for students, which helped motivate and arouse the students interest in English learning. Meanwhile I created a relaxing and harmonious learning environment. I respected each individual student and encourage everyone by using Thank you, Well done! You did a good job ,have a try and so on. However , some students are poor in expressing themselves. So I will create more chances for them to communicate with each other.
