2. Read the cntent f this sectin in advance, understand the new wrds in the text accrding t the cntext, and summarize the wrds that express emtins;
3. Cmplete the relevant exercises in the guide plan.

Step 1 Revisin
1. Ss read the three sentences frm Reading text and discuss the meanings and grammatical functins f the italicised -ing frm, and summarizes the usages f the -ing frm as attribute and predicate.

2. T shares the meanings and functins f the -ing frm in each sentences.
N.1: The -ing frm is used as a predicate, usually after a tie verb, t indicate what r hw the subject is.
N.2: The -ing frm is an attribute, usually used t mdify, qualify, r indicate the qualities and characteristics f a nun r prnun.
N.3: The -ing frm is an attribute which mdifies the preceding nun.

1. Wrk in pairs t identify sentences frm the unit that cntain the -ing frm as an attribute and a predicate. Explain the cmpsitin and meaning f the -ing frm in each sentence as belw.

1. Students read the nline cmments carefully, find the -ing frm f the verb that is used as an attribute r predicate and underline it. Then check with yur partner.
2. The teacher asks different students t read the cntent f each pst and say whether the -ing frm is used as an attribute r a predicate.
