Step 1. Remind the students:


1. What kinds f rubbish d yu thrw every day? Can yu name them?


2. What can be recycled?


Step 2. Wrk in grups


Let the students g t the dustbin t cllect sme garbage and take them t the classrm.


Ask the students name them and cmpare the qualities.


Let the students lk up the bks and the dictinaries when they are in truble. Help them when they can’t express crrectly.


Step 3. Listening


Listen t the tape finish Exercise 2 in the activity bk.


1. Every year, each persn in Nrth America makes abut 1000 kilgrams f garbage.


2. Plastic makes the mst garbage.


3. In just ne day, Americans thrw ut 136 millin kilgrams f packaging.


4. Packaging makes the mst garbage.


Step 4. Reading


Read the text and check the answers.


Let the students read the text in rles. Then ask several students t act ut the dialgue.


Step 5. Cme t “PROJECT”


Bring the students t pick up the garbage in the schl yard. Put the garbage int bags and bring it t schl fr ur prject.


Take a walk arund yur neighburhd, take a bag with yu and pick up any garbage yu see. Wear glves, because garbage in dirty.


Nw srt the garbage int paper, plastic, metal, glass and thers.


Then cmpare the garbage in schl yard with that in neighburhd.


Have students wrk in the same grups r in new grups. Each grup will make a pster abut what things they can d t help reduce pllutin in the wrld.
