【17題詳解】
根據(jù)前文“American law prtects riginal wrks f authrship including bks, mvies, music, images and artwrks.(美國(guó)版權(quán)法保護(hù)原創(chuàng)作品,包括書籍、電影、音樂(lè)、圖像和藝術(shù)品)”以及后文“The wner can sell a cpyright r permit thers t use it because it is prperty and prperty wnership is prtected by law in the U. S.(者可以出售版權(quán)或允許他人使用,因?yàn)榘鏅?quán)是財(cái)產(chǎn),而財(cái)產(chǎn)所有權(quán)在美國(guó)受法律保護(hù))”可知,本段本段講述那些屬于版權(quán)法保護(hù)的對(duì)象,所以G項(xiàng)“The prtectin extends t cmputer sftware and the design f buildings and structures.(保護(hù)范圍擴(kuò)大到計(jì)算機(jī)軟件和建筑物和結(jié)構(gòu)的設(shè)計(jì))”符合本段主題。故選G項(xiàng)。

Fair use can include criticism, cmment, news reprting, educatin and research.(然而,法律允許在所謂的合理使用下未經(jīng)許可使用受版權(quán)保護(hù)的作品。合理使用包括批評(píng)、評(píng)論、新聞報(bào)道、教育和研究)”以及后文“In educatin, students can include small parts f cpyrighted wrk in their writing and research. But they must prvide credit t the riginal creatrs thrugh a citatin which gives details abut the surce.(在教育方面,學(xué)生可以在他們的寫作和研究中包括一小部分受版權(quán)保護(hù)的作品。

First, there are cmputer prgrams and artificial intelligence, tls that cmpare students’ papers t large databases f published writing.(就像抄襲很容易一樣,教授也很容易知道學(xué)生是否抄襲。首先,有計(jì)算機(jī)程序和人工智能,這些工具可以將學(xué)生的論文與已發(fā)表文章的大型數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)進(jìn)行比較)”可知,E項(xiàng)“They can identify whether students have cpied published writing.(他們可以識(shí)別學(xué)生是否抄襲了已發(fā)表的文章)”是對(duì)前文計(jì)算機(jī)程序功能的解釋,符合文意。故選E項(xiàng)。
【20題詳解】
分析設(shè)空,位于段首,是本段的中心句,根據(jù)后文“Prfessrs culd simply warn a student nt t d it again, lwer their grade, r they might fail the student in that class. In mre extreme cases, a student may be temprarily banned r expelled frm schl.(教授可以簡(jiǎn)單地警告學(xué)生不要再這樣做,降低他們的分?jǐn)?shù),或者他們可能會(huì)讓這個(gè)學(xué)生在那門課上不及格。在更極端的情況下,學(xué)生可能會(huì)被暫時(shí)禁止或開除)”可知,本段講述了抄襲會(huì)受到的懲罰,所以C項(xiàng)“Plagiarism is punished in different ways.(抄襲會(huì)受到不同的懲罰)”符合文意。故選C項(xiàng)。

A mnth later, I received a letter. It was frm the candidate whm I had talked with a mnth befre. In the letter, he said that he had successfully landed a psitin in a famus cmpany after adpting my suggestins. The letter read, “Had it nt been fr yur practical advice, I culdn’t have gt the jb I wanted.” I culd sense his gratitude t me in the letter. I felt very pleased fr him, fr I paid frward the feedback I had gt frm my failed interview. And that did wrk.
