The Water-Splashing Festival (潑水節(jié)) is a really fun time fr the Dai peple in Yunnan, China. It happens every spring, arund April, when the weather is just right.
It began in Persia (波斯) and became a custm f the Dai peple in the 12th century. The festival is als celebrated in ther cuntries like Thailand, Las, Cambdia, and Myanmar.
Peple clean their hmes, cut their hair, and take a bath befre the festival. Activities include sending lanterns int the air and watching bat races n the Lancang River.
