Nt lng int the hike, he came upn a path he didn’t remember. Maybe this was a secret rute t the king f all bucks (雄鹿). He tk it. Then, arund 11 am, he came int a clearing (林中空地) alng a ridge line (山脊線). He had walked farther than he had expected. It seemed that his path up the muntain had meandered quite a bit. “Where am I nw?” he muttered. Bill figured he culd drp int the valley, hunt a bit and then g back hme. But when he snaked dwn thrugh the frest, he fund there was n path at all. The frest was thick. It was hard t tell the directin nw.
By arund 2 pm, Bill stpped at smewhere in the valley, exhausted. “I’ll get it figured ut,” he said t himself. He tk ut his phne t call his wife, but the phne had died. He dug int his pants fr the GPS device he always brught in case f emergency and pushed the “n” buttn. Nthing. He had frgtten t charge it the night befre.
“N, I’m nt lst,” he tld himself. His eyes caught a stand f tall trees. He remembered admiring the line f fantastic aks and pines earlier. Reach them and the car wuldn’t be that far ff. It meant he wuld have t cver sme grund.
