A new study finds that natural sunds ffer health benefits t. There is plenty f evidence that spending time in natural areas is gd fr ur health — but typically this research is dne frm a visual perspective, but we are curius what the rle is f sunds we hear in these spaces.
Sme examples they fund reprted in thse studies included decreased pain, lwered stress, imprved md, and better cgnitive (認知的) functin. With these results in hand, they then listened t audi recrdings frm 251 sites in 68 natinal parks acrss the United States.
The sites with the mst natural sunds and the lwest man-made sunds were lcated in Alaska, Hawaii, and the Pacific Nrthwest and were far frm urban(都市的) areas. Only three lcatins with high natural sunds and lw nise pllutin were within 100 kilmeters (62 miles) f urban areas.
Hwever, despite human-made nises being heard mst f the time at sites in urban lcatins, birds were still heard abut 60% f the time and gephysical sunds like wind and rain heard abut 19% f the time.
Nt all natural sunds deliver the same benefits, the researchers fund. Fr example, they discvered that the sunds f water had the largest effect n imprving psitive emtins and health utcmes, while bird sunds lwer stress and annyance. And the sunds f bth birds and water were heard mre than 23% f the time in the natinal park recrding sites.
Interestingly, there was als sme evidence that natural sunds have benefits ver silence. There was als

It might sund like magic, but in February, a paralyzed (癱瘓的) patient was able t drink water n his wn
by cntrlling a special glve with his brain. The glve then acted as his hand. This was a success in

On Oct 24, 2023, the team put a BMI chip (芯片) in the patient’s head. The chip can receive neural signals (神經(jīng)信號) frm the brain.
After three mnths f hme recvery (康復) training, the patient can nw use his brain signals t cntrl a special glve pwered by air pressure. This helps him d things like drinking water independently.
BMI technlgy usually means putting chips directly nt the patient’s brain. Hwever, this prject is
