Vlunteers in Grup One were asked t listen t an audibk while vlunteers in Grup Tw read a bk f the same cntent (內(nèi)容). Anther study frm The Jurnal f Neurscience further supprted the result abve. In the study, researchers scanned (掃描) peple’s brains when they listened t and read bks. The result shwed that listening t audibks activated (激活) almst the same parts f the brain as reading did.
Hwever, sme peple still believe that they learn better frm reading paper bks. One reasn might be that when we listen t audibks, we are ften ding sme ther tasks at the same time. “If yu’ re trying t learn while ding tw things, yu’ re nt ging t learn as well,” Daniel Willingham, a researcher at the University f Virginia, tld The New Yrk Times.

Human-caused climate change influences the cean in many ways, such as changing its temperature, salt level, and acidity (酸度). Fr example, when the water becmes mre acidic, it can’t take in certain sunds. S thse sunds travel further, adding t the nise in sme areas. Hwever, this effect (影響) is nt as big as ther changes. Changes like temperature and salt level can affect hw the cean’s different layers (層) mix. That, in turn, affects hw sund travels.
Researchers used cmputers t mdel hw thse changes influence nise levels acrss the cean. They cmpared the mdels f the wrld nw t thse f the wrld in abut 70 years if climate change cntinues. In the Nrth Atlantic, they saw an increase in sund levels in the upper 125 meters f the Ocean.
This was caused mstly by ice melting (融化) frm Greenland, frming a cld layer f water near the Ocean’s surface. When sund travels thrugh water, it turns tward the cldest layer. This made sund waves get stuck in the cld tp layer and spread further ut acrss the water instead f traveling deeper. As a result, the sund became luder at this depth in the Nrth Atlantic.
The rising nise levels in the Atlantic Ocean are wrrying as they culd disturb animals’ cmmunicatin, hunting and travelling. Sharks already avid lud ships, but with nise levels increasing everywhere, what will happen?
