It all started when the Suth Krean cmpany psed this questin: Can rbts replace cnductrs?
Over a year ag, wrk t develp autmatn (自動化) began. At first, it was designed like a machine, and didn’t live up t expectatins. Then the cmpany sught ways t imprve it. In rder t pull this ff, Dng-wk Lee cperated with the Busan Philharmnic Orchestra. The 12-minute piece they planned t perfrm, “Feel” by Il-hn Sn, was created specifically fr this event. It was created with the strengths f bth EverR 6 and the human cnductr, S-yel Chi, in mind.
T pull ff this impressive perfrmance, the rbt was preprgrammed t cnduct thrugh 30 cycles f beat patterns. Meanwhile, it was up t the human cnductr t lead the rchestra in creating an imprvisatinal (即興的) scre, adding depth t the therwise planned piece.
Tgether, they pulled ff a masterful perfrmance that the audience seemed mre than happy t have had the pprtunity t witness it firsthand!
With the cncert having gne s well, this is nly the start f EverR 6. Still, n matter the imprvements they’re able t make t this Andrid rbt, the human cnductr isn’t cncerned abut being replaced.
“Let’s leave the accuracy t the rbts,” S-yel Chi said, “but the musical and artistic aspects t a human cnductr.”

Campaigners ppsing the building f new wind farms ften pint t the pssibility that the blades f wind turbines (渦輪機) can cut careless birds t bits. N ne dubts that wind turbines kill sme birds. But a new analysis f American data, published in Envirnmental Science & Technlgy, suggests the numbers have little impact n bird ppulatins.
Wind pwer has expanded dramatically in America ver the past 20 years. Many studies have analysed the effects in specific lcatins r n specific bird species. But few have lked at the effects n wildlife at the ppulatin level. Dr. Katvich, an ecnmist at the University f Geneva, used the Christmas Bird Cunt, a citizen-science prject. Vlunteers cunt birds they spt ver Christmas, and the sciety edits the numbers. Its recrds stretch back ver a century.
Dr. Katvich assumed, reasnably, that if wind turbines harmed bird ppulatins, then the numbers seen in the Christmas Bird Cunt wuld drp in places where new turbines had been built. He cmbined bird ppulatin and species maps with the lcatins and cnstructin dates f all wind turbines in America, with the exceptins f Alaska and Hawaii, between 2000 and 2020. He fund that building turbines had n bvius effect n bird ppulatins. That reassuring finding held even when he lked specifically at large birds that many peple believe are particularly easy t be struck.
Dr. Katvich didn’t limit his analysis t wind pwer alne. He als examined il-and-gas extractin (提取). Like wind pwer, this has bmed in America ver the past decades. Cmparing bird ppulatins t the lcatins f new gas wells revealed an average 15% drp in bird numbers when new wells were drilled, prbably due t a cmbinatin f nise, air pllutin and the disturbance f rivers and pnds that many birds rely upn. When drilling happened in places designated by experts as “imprtant bird areas”, bird numbers instead drpped by 25%. Such places are typically migratin hubs, feeding grunds r breeding lcatins.
Wind pwer, in ther wrds, nt nly prduces far less planet-heating gas than fssil fuels. It appears t be significantly less damaging t wildlife, t. Wind turbines might lk dramatic, but their effect n birds isn’t.
32.What des a new analysis find abut wind farms?
A. They take the lives f careless birds.
B. They imprve birds’ living cnditins.
C. They d little harm t bird ppulatins.
D. Their harmful effects n birds vary a lt.
33.Hw did Dr. Katvich make the finding?
A. By cunting bird numbers in different lcatins.
B. By relating bird numbers t turbines’ distributin.
C. By researching perfect places t build turbines.
D. By studying the decline f birds near turbines.
34.What cntributes mst t the drp f bird numbers?
A. The wide spread f wind turbines.B. The ver-develpment f farming.
C. The lack f envirnmental cncern.D. The drilling f wells fr il and gas.
35.What can be a suitable title fr the text?
A. Wind Turbines and Birds Can C-exist
B. Oil Drilling Shares the Sky With Birds
C. Several Factrs Lead t Bird Decline
D. Campaigners Oppse Bird Disturbance

They came t America because there were jbs frm building railrads t skyscrapers.”(19世紀初,絕大多數(shù)移民到美國的意大利人來自意大利南部農村,他們來到美國是因為那里有從修建鐵路到摩天大樓的工作。)可知,這些來自意大利南部農村的移民到美國是因為那里有工作,可以掙錢,可見他們生活很貧困,結合劃線詞所在句“Sme say fish was chsen fr the Feast because it was plentiful fr impverished families in Suthern Italy.”(有人說,之所以選擇魚作為節(jié)日的食物,是因為對意大利南部的impverished家庭來說,魚很豐富。) 故選A。
26.答案:C

根據(jù)第一段“The Feast f the Seven Fishes is an Italian-American traditin that dates back t an immigratin (移民) wave in the 1900s.”(七魚盛宴是意大利裔美國人的傳統(tǒng),可以追溯到20世紀初的移民浪潮。)和“The Feast f the Seven Fishes is a dear traditin t many Italian Americans wh enjy at least seven different seafd dishes n Christmas Eve.”(七魚盛宴對許多意大利裔美國人來說是一個珍貴的傳統(tǒng),他們在平安夜至少享受七種不同的海鮮菜肴。)
Over a year ag, wrk t develp autmatn (自動化) began. At first, it was designed like a machine, and didn't live up t expectatins. Then the cmpany sught ways t imprve it. 30.
Meanwhile, it was up t the human cnductr t lead the rchestra in creating an imprvisatinal(即興的) scre, adding depth t the therwise planned piece.

根據(jù)第一段“Campaigners ppsing the building f new wind farms ften pint t the pssibility that the blades f wind turbines (渦輪機) can cut careless birds t bits. 33.
根據(jù)第三段中“He cmbined bird ppulatin and species maps with the lcatins and cnstructin dates f all wind turbines in America, with the exceptins f Alaska and Hawaii, between 2000 and 2020.
根據(jù)第四段中“Cmparing bird ppulatins t the lcatins f new gas wells revealed an average 15% drp in bird numbers when new wells were drilled, prbably due t a cmbinatin f nise, air pllutin and the disturbance f rivers and pnds that many birds rely upn.
35.答案:A
再結合最后一段中“It appears t be significantly less damaging t wildlife, t. Wind turbines might lk dramatic, but their effect n birds isn’t. 故選A項。
