I had heard him use this line in the classrm a few times befre, when it lked like a kid was having a bad day. It usually arused a laugh and ended there. This time was different thugh — he was waiting fr an answer. Next thing I knew I was fllwing him int the library.
We sat amngst the shelves f the mstly empty library fr the rest f lunchtime. What made him such a special teacher was that he saw that I was struggling and reached ut t me utside f the classrm.

It was hard, but it was fun, and they did it all in secret. The fur practiced their parts, and befre they knew it, it was time fr the big Parents Night Talent Shw.
Despite the difficulties in the preparatin, especially cstumes, their big day came finally. The audience f parents laughed and laughed when they saw hw they seemed t their cubs. Mama and Papa laughed until tears rlled dwn their cheeks. Papa laughed, t, but nt as much as Mama.
They bth thught the play, which was a big surprise t them, was very well dne. They admitted that it helped them understand what it was like being a cub.

“After all, we were cubs nce urselves,” said Mama. “And here’s a thught: Yu’ll be grwnups smeday and, each prbably have cubs f yur wn.”
Brther and Sister thught abut that fr a mment. They lked at each ther. Then they lked ut int the distance and thught abut it. It was smething t think abut.
