Life at the bttm f the cean is extreme. It's dark; the temperature remains right abve freezing and the pressure is huge. Only arund a cuple f dzen peple have actually been t the deepest part f the cean flr, a place knwn as Challenger Deep.
In July 2022, Marine gegrapher Dawn Wright and pilt and cean explrer Victr Vescv went dwn in a small underwater vehicle. Once the pair went dwn abut 800 meters, they lst sunlight. "Wrms, jellyfish, anglerfish are able t create their wn light, "Wright says." They use the light t find mates, hunt, and—apparently—attempt t cmmunicate with ur underwater vehicle. Victr nticed flashes f light as we reached that zne in the cean. And then he started flashing the lights f the underwater vehicle at them. And we saw them flash back. "
Mst tsunamis are a result f earthquakes n the seaflr. Wright explains that "when yu have that disruptin n the cean flr, the water abve the cean flr gets severely disrupted as well, "which can generate large waves that can turn int tsunamis. By mapping the seaflr, scientists can identify and mnitr underwater areas where earthquakes may take place. That culd give castal areas mre warning time in the event f a tsunami.
The basic principle f mapping is a ship r instrument sends pulses f sund frm the cean surface dwn tward the seaflr and waits fr it t cme back up. Based n the amunt f time it takes fr the sund t return and factrs like temperature and salt cntent, scientists can get a specific depth. Scanning a whle area f the seaflr, then, will give yu a depth-r bathymetry—map.
If the entire cean flr has nt been mapped by 2030, Wright says the wrk will cntinue. But, she adds, "The lnger it takes us t get t clse t 100 percent, fr all the reasns that we've talked abut, the mre it lks like we are playing with fire, s t speak."

With the new term upn us, I recently received an email frm my university encuraging me t cme up with a "plicy" abut the use f artificial intelligence in my curses. The university suggested that n the first day f class, instructrs shuld infrm students whether and hw they can emply AI bts.

In that sense, as Neil wrte, bullshit is "a greater enemy f the truth than lies are."
S here's my questin: D yu want t live yur life this way? If s, AI bts are definitely fr yu. Let them write yur essays, d yur prblem sets, draw yur artwrk, and cmpse yur petry. As they get better, utpacing the systems designed t detect them, yu're less and less likely t get caught.
Maybe, AI will eventually take ver everything we d. It will drive ur cars r cure ur illnesses. It will make beautiful art and music. Yet there's ne thing it will never d: make yu int a fully autnmus human being, with yur wn ideas, feelings and gals. I want that t be yur ambitin.
12.What des the authr expect his students t d?
A.Imprve their learning skills.B.Make the mst f AI bts.

13.Why des the authr cite his teacher's wrds?

C.T stress the strength f AI.
D.T blame liars fr denying the truth.
14.What is the authr's attitude tward the use f AI bts?
A.Favrable.B.Indifferent.C.Uncertain.D.Disapprving.
15.What might be the best title fr the text?
