Did yu knw that swimming can prvide yu with the tls yu need fr achieving success later in life? The fllwing life lessns aren’t things yu can be taught in a classrm. They are drawn frm the cunt-less hurs we spend swimming in the clean water.
Having big gals is necessary t achieve success in the pl. Smetimes thse big gals can be ur wrst enemy, hwever. Yu need t start with shrt-term gals. Smetimes taking baby steps can be t slw fr sme peple, making them annyed, but successful swimmers knw that this slw prgress prvides an accumulated effect that has a huge impact in the mid and lng term. Success in the pl—and life—is achieved step by step, mistake by mistake, small win by small win.
Swimming tests yur mental limits. I cannt cunt hw many times I watched the cach write a set f training plans n the bard and felt myself hlding back deep inside, mind racing, with thughts f hw badly I was ging t die ver the curse f the set. But then what happened? I pulled it ff. I started the set, and talked myself thrugh it. “Hey, this isn’t s bad.” A little bit later, “Okay, halfway dne.” And finally, “I am ging t achieve the gal!”
The reality is yu never knw hw tugh yu are until yu are in the race, reaching that gal even thugh a few minutes earlier yu were mentally shaking in yur swimming suit. This carries really well int the ther challenges yu will face in yur life. We always think we aren’t capable, that swimming r life finally beats us, but believe it r nt, yu will always be as strng as yu need t be.

31. What Can be the best title fr the text?

B. Life lessns yu will learn frm swimming
C. Swimming can make yu tugh in life

I really enjy autumn’s display f glden leaves, but as a bird lver in the UK, the real thrill at this time f year is the arrival f migratry birds(侯鳥(niǎo)) frm Iceland, Siberia and Canada.
The UK is lucky—in winter, we get a wide variety f birds heading here t escape tugh cnditins further nrth. And in summer, we are visited by birds frm Africa such as swallws and cucks(杜鵑) that make the mst f ur lng, light days fr having their yung. While the lng flights are undubtedly impressive, there are sme species that fly cnsiderably further, spending much f their lives at the extreme ends f Earth.
The Arctic tern(北極燕鷗) has the wrld’s lngest migratin: a rund-trip f 35,000 kilmeters annually. Arctic terns break up their lng jurneys thugh, s if yu are lking fr, he wrld’s lngest nn-stp flyer, that recrd is held by the bar-tailed gdwit(斑尾塍鷸).
S why d birds migrate? It makes sense t head smewhere warmer fr winter, but it can be harder t explain why sme African species then return t Eurpe fr summer when fd is still plentiful in their wintering grunds. It culd be because there is less cmpetitin here, r because ur lnger, cler days are useful. Sme trips are even harder t explain. Fr example, the ancient murrelet(海雀) flies almst 8,000 kilmeters frm Canada t China , despite very similar cnditins.
Althugh there is still much we dn’t knw, we d knw that ur changing climate is making birds lse the benefits f such lng jurneys. Arctic terns survive n sand eels(沙鰻) when they arrive in the Shetland Islands. In 2004, the UK saw a sudden drp in sand eels due t climate change. The islands usually hst mre than 20,000 pairs f Arctic terns, but didn’t see a single chick survive t adulthd that summer. I have s much admiratin fr the wrld’s furthest fliers, and I just hpe they can cling n and that we can cme t fully understand them.
32. Why d sme birds travel t the UK frm Africa in summer?
A. T search fr mre fd.B. T escape the heat in Africa.
C. T enjy the warmth in the UK.D. T take advantage f the lnger days.
33. Which bird flies the lngest nn-stp in the wrld?
A. The Arctic tern.B. The swallw.
C. The bar-tailed gdwit.D. The ancient murrelet.
34. What des the authr think f the ancient murrelet’s trip frm Canada t China?
A. Puzzling.B. Relaxing.C. Impressive.D. Unnecessary.
35. What is the last paragraph mainly abut?
A. The authr’s admiratin and pity fr Arctic terns.
B. The impact f climate change n migratry birds.
C. What peple shuld d t prtect migratry birds.
D. Hw Arctic terns find fd during their migratin.
