Tw years ag, Azara Masn was having truble seeing the bard in class. An eye dctr tld her she had mypia(近視),r nearsightedness!
Peple wh are nearsighted have truble seeing things that are far away. Azara nw wears glasses when she needs them.
The eye wrks like a camera. Light passes thrugh a lens and is turned int images. The brain then helps us understand what they are.

Laughter Therapy(療法)
Laughter nt nly prvides wrkut fr yur muscles(肌肉), it als prduces endrphins(內(nèi)啡肽) which help t reduce stress(壓力).What’s mre, yur bdy can’t tell the difference between real and fake(假的) laughter.
The happiness yu feel when yu laugh is a great way f fighting the physical effects(影響) f stress. When we laugh, ur bdy relaxes and endrphins are released(釋放) int the bld stream.
A Laughter Therapist’s aim is t help yu laugh mre easily. It starts with a warm-up fllwed by a lt f activities designed t get yu laughing. Laughter desn’t cme easily t everyne, but luckily, it’s a skill yu can learn. S faking it has the same beneficial effect.
Dr Lee Berk f Lma University Medical Centre, has been ding laughter therapy research since the late 1970s.In 1989 Berk studied the effects f laughter in ten healthy males. Five experimental subjects watched an hur-lng cmedy while five cntrl subjects didn’t. Bld samples taken frm the ten subjects shwed that crtisl(皮質(zhì)醇), the hrmne(荷爾蒙) ur bdy releases when under stress, in the experimental subjects had reduced mre rapidly than in the cntrl grup. Berk’s research has als shwn the number f cells that fight viruses(病毒) increases thrugh laughter. These same cells are blcked(阻礙) if the bdy suffers lng-term stress.
The therapeutic effects f laughter have been studied since the 1970s, but Dr. Madan Kataria is the ne wh set up the first laughter club in 1995. There are nw mre than 5000 laughter clubs wrldwide.
Laughter therapy is suitable fr everyne. Elderly grups, yung peple in care and mental(心理的) health patients are all thught t benefit especially frm laughter therapy. If yu’re undecided, remember this: children laugh abut 400 times a day while adults manage nly 15.
