After repeating the infrmatin he needed, I explained my dilemma in trying t understand the new plicy and asked hw it wuld affect my future purchases.
“Please, d nt wrry. Yu will have n change.”
“Are yu sure? I am an authr and travel frequently. I need t have access t my card at all times fr big r small purchases.” I laughed t myself, thinking I wasn’t ging anywhere fr a while, at least until there was a vaccine.
“Let me reassure yu. There will be n change t yur card, but Ms. Struna, may I ask yu ne mre questin? Are yu the authr f The Old Cape Huse?”
My jaw drpped. He was talking abut my first nvel f suspenseful histrical fictin, The Old Cape Huse, published in 2013. I was stunned and I stammered, “Why, yes I am.” I was still skeptical abut what he wanted frm me.
Thmas kept talking. “I thught it was yu. I recgnized yur name, and when yu tld me yu were an authr, I knew it was yu.”
“Oh, my gdness.” My heart started t beat faster with delight at the cnnectin I was making with an unknwn freign reader.
