It was a bright spring morning in a neighborhood in New York. Three young men were getting ready for a road trip across the United States with excitement. I was one of those young men. For my friends and me, going on a cross-country journey was at the top of our bucket lists!
A bucket list is a list of all the things you want to see, try or finish during your lifetime. But it’s not something simple(簡(jiǎn)單的) like learning to ride a bike or passing a math test. You need to dream big!
What’s on my bucket list? Well, I love watching the night sky. My interest in it comes from reading an article in a magazine. So I want to spend a few nights in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. If the skies are clear, I could also have a look at the Galaxy!
If you’re ready to start making your own bucket list, you first need to decide what to put on it. You could make a list of exciting things you’d like to do. If you love travelling, walking through the Amazon Rainforest may be on your list. If you love sports, you could put a trip to England to watch the boat race between Oxford University and Cambridge University on your list.
Most people don’t have a clear idea of what they want. Making a bucket list can help you know what’s really important to you. It helps you decide what you really want from life and motivates(激勵(lì)) you to make your dreams come true. Time waits for no one. So no more excuses, get out there and start making your list!
21.How does the writer tell us about the bucket list in the first paragraph?
A.By giving numbers.
B.By asking a question.
C.By giving an example.
D.By describing his feelings.
22.In the writer’s opinion, which of the following can be on a bucket list?
A.Read a book before bed.
B.Walk through a rainforest.
C.Visit friends on weekends.
D.Cook a meal for the family.
23.The underlined word “it” in Paragraph 3 refers to________.
A.making a bucket list
B.watching the night sky
C.the article in the magazine
D.the beauty of the Galaxy
24.Which of the following is NOT talked about in the passage?
A.What a bucket list is.
B.Why you should create a bucket list.
C.What you can put on your bucket list.
D.Where the term “bucket list” came from.
25.What’s the purpose(目的) of the passage?
A.To ask us to create a bucket list.
B.To share the writer’s hobbies with us.
C.To discuss what’s really important in life.
D.To tell us how to make our dreams come true.
