One evening in December 2021, I stood on the stage and received a special award given to our team for our performance in the Model United Nations (MUN) (模擬聯(lián)合國(guó)) Conference. The conference allows students to role-play as UN delegates (代表) to understand how the UN works and how the international relations develop.
Behind the honor of the award was sweat on our own. When I was told that we had to add some details to our report presentation (展示), I was quite surprised and nervous, because it would make our presentation much more difficult. Fortunately, we finished our presentation thanks to everyone’s efforts.
However, when the time of the conference came, something unknown happened. The placement of the tables and chairs upset us a lot. As one of our players said, the MUNers are confident and always moving forward. It was this honor that strengthened my determination to carry our MUN club forward to a bright future.

For primary and middle school students, being able to cook will become a must in the near future. They will also need to learn how to plant vegetables, raise poultry and maintain home machines according to the new requirements.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) recently released (發(fā)布) a new curriculum standard for labor education (勞動(dòng)教育). Starting from the coming autumn term, students in primary and middle schools will take courses on labor skills at least once a week.
According to the new standards, there are three types of labor tasks. The first refers to everyday housework, including cleaning, cooking and using and maintaining home machines. Next is productive labor, including agriculture, making traditional handcrafts, and using new technologies such as 3D printing and laser cutting. The third type is service work, including volunteer work.
The new curriculum also calls for a labor week every school year, which will be a week of after-school activities aimed at labor education.
Because of a lot of studying pressure, schools have placed more focus on the school lessons, and many schools have seen housework as a waste of time. But according to the MOE, labor education must be focused on to help students cultivate social values and develop an interest in labor.
