The secret is that quantum computers work in a totally different way from classical ones. In classical computers, like our laptops, the information is stored as 0s and 1s. These are called “bits”. A classical computer’s calculation is like looking for a lost dog by searching one street after another, but quantum computers can do it by searching lots of streets at the same time!
