Can I borrow your camera?    borrow表示借入,  borrow sth. from sb.     表示向某人借某物。    lend表示借出, 通常是lend sth to sb.        表示把某物借給某人。    I borrowed a book from the library yesterday. 昨天我從圖書館借了一本書。Tom lent his book to me last month. 上個(gè)月湯姆把書借給了我。 2. Theyll be put up on the school website.    put up   張貼,公布    put down   放下               put off     推遲    put on     穿上;上演      put away   收拾;放妥    You can the notice on the noticeboard.     你可以把通知貼在布告欄上。3. In the past, we mainly got information from paper books.    in the past表示在過去    mainly表示大部分地,主要地。是副詞。它的形容詞為main。例如:    We mainly get food from the land and sea.     我們主要從陸地和海洋獲取食物。4. Some were huge ones with thousands of pages.    thousands of 表示成千上萬的    Thousands of birds fly back to the north in spring. 成千上萬的鳥兒在春天飛回北方。拓展:hundred,thousand million的具體用法 1). 用單數(shù)的場(chǎng)合 當(dāng)這些詞與具體數(shù)字連用時(shí), 習(xí)慣上用單數(shù),而且其后也不接介詞of He was prepared to pay two million. 他愿意支付200萬。More than a hundred people were injured.有一百多人受了傷 。但是,當(dāng)這些詞后面的名詞有了the,these, those等特指限定詞修飾時(shí),或其后接的是us, them這樣的人稱代詞時(shí),此時(shí)必須用介詞of。About three hundred of them have left there. 他們當(dāng)中約有300人離幵了那兒。 2). 用復(fù)數(shù)的場(chǎng)合 當(dāng)這些詞不與具體數(shù)字連用,而是表示不確定的泛指概數(shù)時(shí),則不僅要用復(fù)數(shù),而且要 接介詞of, 然后才能接名詞。The sun was shining. Thousands of people were lying on the beach.陽光燦爛,數(shù)以千計(jì)的人躺在海灘上。A careless mistake cost the company millions of pounds. 一個(gè)粗心的錯(cuò)誤使公司蒙受數(shù)百萬鎊的損失。5. And the memory card may be full.    memory 表示內(nèi)存,存儲(chǔ)器    full adj. 滿的;充滿的       My suitcase was full of books. 我的提箱裝滿了書。 6. That can be fixed.    此句為含有情態(tài)動(dòng)詞的被動(dòng)語態(tài)。結(jié)構(gòu)為情態(tài)動(dòng)詞+be+過去分詞。    fix v. 修補(bǔ),挽救The broken window need to be fixed. 這個(gè)破窗戶需要修補(bǔ)。辨析:repair, mendfix這三個(gè)動(dòng)詞都可以用來表示修理某一事物,使其能恢復(fù)到原來的形狀或形態(tài)的意思。1). repair的對(duì)象范圍很廣,從房屋、道路、機(jī)器到日常生活必需品,是使受到一定損失或失靈的東西恢復(fù)其形狀或功能。Who has repaired the broken leg of the table? 誰把桌子的斷腿修好了?2). fix用于需要重新調(diào)整物體的結(jié)構(gòu),把松散的部件固定結(jié)實(shí),將分離的物體各部分裝配起來。在美國口語中,它與repair無太大區(qū)別。Can you fix the broken chair?你能修理那把壞了的椅子嗎?fix修理時(shí),是個(gè)非正式的用語,它的基本含義是將某物固定在某一地方。 fix可用來指修補(bǔ)整理任何出了毛病的東西,使用范圍較repair廣。I am going to fix my bicycle tomorrow.我準(zhǔn)備明天修理自付車。properly adv. 合適地,正確地How much money do we need to do the job properly? 我們需要多少錢才能做好這件事?8. we waited for weeks to hear from our pen friends abroad.收到國外筆友的來信需要好幾周的時(shí)間。hear from 收到的來信;從聽到I shall defer replying till you hear from home.我將收到家信以后再給你回復(fù)。I never saw him again, nor did I hear from him.我再也沒有見過他,也沒有收到過他的信。Step 3 Practice  4. Find the sentences in the conversation which mean:1) Ask two students to read and translate the sentences in activity 4.2) Give students 3 minutes to find synonymous sentences in the dialogue.3) Ask the students to check with a partner.4) Check the answers.5.
