But once you look at them with some perspective, you will certainly feel easy. Here is a normal boarding day.Early Morning:Usually boarders get up around 7: 00 am and have around an hour to take a shower and put on their uniform before breakfast.Lessons:Classes start at 9: 00 am and every lesson lasts for 50 minutes. After two lessons, at 10: 40 am, you’ll have a short break. The next period of classes will include two more lessons.Lunch:Lunch is usually held around 12: 30 pm at the dining hall, where you’ll join your friends to enjoy a hot dish. After an hour of lunch, you’ll have three or four more lessons to attend.Dinner:At 5: 00 pm you will have finished your school lessons for the day. Most boarding schools in the UK offer their full boarders different kinds of hot meals to choose from.Activities/ Sports:All boarding schools in the UK provide many different kinds of activities for their boarders, such as football, swimming, golf or art.Prep:An important part of boarding school life is the supervised homework session known as “prep”. Although prep might sound stressful, it’s a great way for you to keep up with your studies.Free time:Once you are done with all your classes and activities, it’s time to relax.Bedtime:In most boarding schools, the lights go out around 10: 30 pm.Being nervous just before you go to a boarding school is completely normal and understandable. Hopefully, being aware of the usual routine you’ll be following can help you. Once you are there, you will also see how exciting life in a boarding school in England can be.21. What can help you keep up with your studies in the boarding school?A. Doing activities. B. Having lessons.C. Enjoying free time. D. Supervised homework sessions.22. What do we know about boarding schools in England from the text?A. Classes usually start at 8: 30 am.B. Students can have a short break after four lessons.C. They don’t give students any free time.D. They turn off the lights around 10:30 pm.23. What is the purpose of the text?A. To help students know about boarders’ life.B. To attract more students to boarding schools.C. To introduce a new school life.D. To advertise for boarding schools.BIf you were to throw, say, a banana peel out of your car while driving along the motorway, that would be a completely harmless action, due to the fact that it’s part of a fruit — right? Actually, no. A banana peel can take up to two years to be naturally processed, and with a third of motorists admitting to littering while driving, that’s a whole lot of discarded banana peels. An orange peel and a cigarette butt has a similar biodegrading (生物降解) term to that of a banana peel, but tin cans last up to 100 years; and plastic bottles last forever, as do glass bottles.Despite the fact that longer-lasting materials will serve to damage the environment and its animals for longer, we can’t merely measure the severity of a certain type of rubbish by its lifetime. For example, despite having a fairly short length of biodegrading time, more than 120 tons of cigarette-related litter is discarded in the UK every day. It’s not a cheap habit either: to keep our streets clean annually costs UK taxpayers £500 million, and when you include our green spaces, that goes up to £1 billion. So, it’s not surprising that if caught fly-tipping you could face a £20,000 fine or even jail time and, if you disposed of something dangerous, the court could give you five years to serve. Regardless of how severe these punishments might seem, however, among the reported cases only 2,000 were found guilty out of 825,000, so we still have some way to go in making sure people obey the rules.24. What does the underlined word “discarded” in para1 mean?A. Harmless.        B. Processed.       C. Thrown.        D. Long-lasting.25. Which of the following has the longest biodegrading term?A. Glass bottles.      B. Tin cans.      C. Cigarette butts.     D. Banana peels.26. What can be inferred from the passage?A. The severity of rubbish can be measured by its lifetime.B. Quite a few people were found guilty of illegally littering.C. Every year UK taxpayers spend £500 million keeping streets free of dirt. D. Cigarette-related litter and peels can be ignored for their fairly short lifetime.27. What is the purpose of the passage?A. To inform readers of different biodegrading terms.B. To call for people not to litter illegally.C. To encourage people to use fewer plastic bags.D. To stress the importance of good behavior.CThe health benefits of staying active are already wellknown. It can help you manage weight, keep blood sugar levels down and reduce risk factors for heart disease. Now, a new study suggests that regularly playing sports, especially badminton or tennis, is not only healthy but also reduces your risk of death, at any age, by approximately 50%. This is a big scale population study to explore the health benefits of sports in terms of death rate. The study evaluated responses from 80, 306 adults aged 30 and above in England and Scotland, who were surveyed about their health, lifestyle and exercise patterns. After adjusting factors such as age, sex, weight, smoking habits, alcohol use, education and other forms of exercise besides the named sports, the researchers compared the risk of death among people who took part in a sport to those who didn’t. The percentage of reduced risk of death was found to be: 47% for racket(球拍) sports, 28% for swimming and 15% for cycling. In addition to this, the study didn’t find any significant reduction in the risk for sports like running and football. The findings also exposed that over 44% of the participants met the guidelines for the recommended exercise levels to stay fit and healthy, which amounts to 150 minutes of moderate(適度的) physical activity in a week.Does this mean you stop running or playing football and switch to tennis instead? Every kind of sport and physical activity has different physical, social and mental benefits attached to it. The apparent lack of benefits of running and football could result from several variables that were not taken into account.Being active helps you feel happier and live longer. So, the most important step is to take part in any kind of sport that you are likely to enjoy and follow in the long term.28. How is the study conducted?A. By doing comparative experiments.B. By analyzing previous data.C. By evaluating survey information.D. By tracking participants for a long time.29. What does the underlined part “the named sports” refer to?A. Ball sports.     B. Racket sports.C. Individual sports.   D. Traditional sports.30. What can we infer from Paragraph 5?A. Few people will play football.B. Tennis will become more popular.C. The result of this study is wrong.D. The study needs to be further improved.31. What does the author advise people to do?A. Stick to any sport that you like.B. Play badminton and tennis only.C. Stop running and playing football.D. Do any sport according to guidelines.DIf businesses are to get those workers unwilling to go back to work to their position, finding ways to keep people who work together or meet at social gatherings between 2 to more than 2 meters will be the issue that needs handling badly. An Israeli company thinks it can help, using smart sensors hung on workplace ceilings.PointGrab developed its technology before the pandemic to help workspace managers optimize (優(yōu)化)how employees use office space. About the size of a smoke alarm, the sensors can record the exact number and location of people in buildings including offices, hotels and restaurants. One of the company’s first clients was Deloitte, which installed the system at its flagship London office last year, Point Grab's sensors were connected to screens in the building to show the availability of desks and shared areas in real time. PointGrab CEO Doron Shachar says it was one of a range of innovations that helped Deloitte fit 30% more people into 3% less space. Now PointGrab has adapted the technology so the sensors can also monitor social distancing by keeping track of how far apart people are, and whether they're traveling in one direction around a building. Workspace managers can set up alerts for when two people are closer than two meters for more than 30 seconds, for example. The sensors have been included in the "six feet office" concept created by real estate services company Cushman & Wakefield to encourage employees to practice social distancing. They are currently being used in this way at a university in the Netherlands, and at an innovation hub in Belgium. While the social distancing innovation is new, PointGrab has deployed more than 10, 000 sensors for workspace optimization, including in the offices of Coca-cola, Facebook and Dell.Workers might not like the idea, but PointGrab says no images or identifying features are recorded. Instead, each employee is represented as an anonymous dot on a dashboard. "The sensor does not violate people's privacy, Shachar says. " This is extremely important in the workspace.”What is the key to getting the workers back into the office now?
A.Maintaining social distance B.Minding their own business
C.Offering more social interactions D.Keeping workplace ceilings cleanWhat does the underlined word "deployed " in Paragraph 6 probably mean?
A.Delayed B.Inserted C.Chaired D.FixedWhat can workers expect of smart sensors according to the text?

B.They may help reduce energy consumption
C.They can protect their privacy effectively.

Now I’d like to tell you some thing about the Palace Museum. The Palace Museum was called the Forbidden City in the past. It took 200,000 workers more than 14 years to build it, which was finished in 1420. As one of the largest museums in the world, the Palace Museum holds the cultural treasures from the past 5,000 years of Chinese history. The City’s palaces have 9,999 rooms altogether. Chinese people traditionally have thought of “9” as a lucky number. Students from all over China can now visit it in groups free of charge every Tuesday. And every year, millions of foreigners from all over the world come to visit it.I hope you can come to China and take a look at this museum with your own eyes.Best wishes!Yours,Li Hua   錄音原文 Text 1  M:Why don’t you go to a show or something tonight?W: As a matter of fact, I thought Judy might like to go to a concert.M: Let’s have a look and see what’s on...You might try the concert at the Festival Hall.W: That sounds nice.Text 2  W:Do you know if Bill has finished his research paper on computers?M: I don’t think so. That building over there in Centerville was just struck by lightning for the fourth time.M: I’m not surprised. If I’m caught in a thunderstorm, I will look for a building or a closed car. Also, I was told that if you’re stuck outdoors, the best thing you can do is to keep yourself close to the ground and avoid bodies of water.M: To tell you the truth, even when I’m at home, I don’t take baths or showers during a thunderstorm.
