Fr many years, I was cnvinced that my suffering was due t my size. I believed that when the weight disappeared, it wuld take ld wunds, hurts and rejectins with it.
Many weight-cnscius peple als mistakenly believe that changing ur bdies will fix everything. Perhaps ur mistake is believing that being thin equals being lved, being special, and being cherished. We fantasize (幻想) abut what it will be like when we reach the lng-awaited gal .We wrk very hard t realize this dream. Then, at last, we find urselves there.
But we ften gain back what we have lst. Even s, we cntinue t believe that next time it will be different. Next time, we will keep it ff. Next time, being thin will finally fulfill its prmise f everlasting happiness, self-wrth, and, f curse, lve.
It tk me a lng time t realize that there was smething mre fr me t learn abut beauty. Beauty standards vary with culture. In Sama a wman is nt cnsidered attractive unless she weighs mre than 200 punds. Mre imprtantly, if it’s happiness that we want, why nt put ur energy there rather than n the size f ur bdy? Why nt lk inside? Many f us strive hard t change ur bdy, but in vain. We have t find a way t live cmfrtably inside ur bdy and make friends with and cherish urselves. When we change ur attitudes twards urselves, the whle wrld changes.

Like many ther peple, I lve my smart phne, which keeps me cnnected with the larger wrld that can g anywhere with me. I als lve my laptp, because it hlds all f my writing and thughts. In spite f this lve f technlgy, I knw that there are times when I need t mve away frm these devices and truly cmmunicate with thers.
On ccasin, I teach a curse called Histry Matters fr a grup f higher educatin managers. My gals fr the class include a full discussin f histrical themes and ideas. Because I want students t thrughly study the materials and exchange their ideas with each ther in the classrm, I have a rule—n laptp, ipads, phnes, etc. When students were tld my rule in advance f the class, sme f them were nt happy.
Mst students assume that my reasns fr this rule include unpleasant experiences in the past with students misusing technlgy. There’s a bit f truth t that. Sme students assume that I am anti-technlgy. There’s n truth in that at all. I lve technlgy and try t keep up with it, s I can relate t my students.
The real reasn why I ask students t leave technlgy at the dr is that I think there are very few places in which we can have deep cnversins and truly engage cmplex ideas. Interruptins by technlgy ften break cncentratin and allw fr t much dependence n utside infrmatin fr ideas. I want students t dig deep within themselves fr inspiratin and ideas. I want them t push each ther t think differently and make cnnectins between the curse materials and the class discussin.
I’ve been teaching my histry class in this way fr many years and the evaluatins reflect student satisfactin with the envirnment that I create. Students realize that with deep cnversatin and challenge, they learn at a level that helps them keep the curse materials beynd the classrm.’
I’m nt saying that I wn’t ever change my mind abut technlgy use in my histry class, but until I hear a really gd reasn fr the change, I’m sticking t my plan. A few hurs f technlgy-free dialgue is just t sweet t give up.

Fd picked up just a few secnds after being drpped is less likely t cntain bacteria than if it is left fr lnger perids f time, accrding t the findings f research carried ut at Astn University’s Schl f Life and Health Sciences. The results shwed that: time is a significant factr in the transfer f bacteria frm a flr surface t a piece f fd, and the type f flring the fd has been drpped n has an effect, with bacteria least likely t transfer frm carpeted surfaces and mst likely t transfer frm cement flring surfaces t mist fds making cntact fr mre than 5 secnds. Prfessr Hiltn said, "Cnsuming fd drpped n the flr still carries an infectin risk as it very much depends n which bacteria are present n the flr at the time."

The survey shwed that: 87% f the peple surveyed said they wuld eat fd drpped n the flr, r already have dne s. 55% f thse that wuld, r have eaten fd drpped n the flr are wmen. 81% f the wmen wh wuld eat fd frm the flr wuld fllw the ‘5-secnd rule’. Prfessr Hiltn added, "Our study shwed that a surprisingly large majrity f peple are happy t cnsume drpped fd, with wmen the mst likely t d s. But they are als mre likely t fllw the ‘5-secnd rule, which ur research has shwn t be much than an ld wives’ tale."

A.A tast drpped n the carpet is easier t be plluted than that drpped n the cement flr.
B.A sticky chclate drpped n the carpet is easier t be plluted than that drpped n the cement flr.
C.The fd drpped n the carpet shares the same ptential f being plluted with the fd drpped n the cement flr.
D.The fd drpped n the cement flr is nt as safe as fd drpped n the carpet within 30 secnds.
