Ammaar Reshi, 28, has been fascinated by technlgy since he was a child. One day, when he was experimenting with an AI-pwered chatbt, he began t cnsider hw artificial intelligence culd be used t create a basic children’s bk t give t his friends. Withut ever picking up a pen and paper, he created a 12-page picture bk.
Just 72 hurs later, Reshi self-published his bk n Amazn’s digital bkstre. The next day he gt the paperback(平裝書(shū)), which was made available fr free thrugh anther Amazn service called KPD.
Reshi said he paid nthing t have the bk created and published, althugh he has already paid fr a $30-per-mnth Midway subscriptin. Impressed by the speed and results f his prject, Reshi shared the experience in a Twitter thread that attracted mre than 2,000 cmments and 5,800 retweets(轉(zhuǎn)發(fā)).
Reshi stated that he received great feedback(反饋)frm users, wh lauded his creative wrk at first. But the next day, the replies were negative. “There was this incredibly passinate reactin,” Reshi said. “At 4 am, I was wken up by my phne ex plding every tw minutes with a new tweet saying things like ‘We hate yu’.”
Reshi was taken aback by the utpuring f emtin in respnse t what was suppsed t be a present fr sme friends’ children. He didn’t realize he had landed in the heart f a much brader argument.
Sme artists have expressed cncern that AI art generatrs are stealing their wrk in respnse t Reshi’s bk. And sme artists claim that their wrk has been used withut their permissin t train Al picture generatrs.
“I wuldn’t even call myself an authr,” Reshi said. “The AI is essentially the ghstwriter(代筆者), and the ther AI is the illustratr.” But he thught the prcess was creative.

Mst children lve stries. Stries are entertaining and fun, but can they be mre than just fun? Findings frm a new study led by Rebecca de Leeuw, an assistant prfessr at the Radbud University, indicate stries in mvies can als be meaningful fr children.
The researchers cntacted children between 4 and 15years ld after they watched the Disney film Inside Out. This film takes place mainly in the head f an 11-year-ld girl, where her emtins—Jy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, persnified as different characters—cnflict n hw t help her best in her new life after her family mves. The stry fllws the “her’s jurney” —a classical narrative(敘事的)framewrk, which invlves a her wh ges n an adventure, vercmes challenges, and return s changed. S the research team chse this film. When making this film, the film-makers had in-depth discussins with psychlgists t make the emtin animatin cnsistent with scientific knwledge.
The research team asked mstly pen-ended questins t encurage the children t share their thughts, including the key questin: “Was there a part f the mvie yu had t think abut?” Children lked at stills f imprtant scenes and were invited t explain in their wn wrds what happened. If they liked, they als rewatched scenes f the film.
While watching, children made sense f the feelings, mtives and behavir f characters in the film, using their scial intelligence skills. They als further develped these skills when they were challenged in making sense f the stry. Children als mentined they appreciated seeing acts f pity, kindness, lve and bravery in the film. Just like adults, they were even tuched t tears by these qualities.
One f the children in the study even expressed that Jy inspired her t never quit in her wn life. The mre insights children gained while watching, the mre meaningful the stry became fr them. Altgether, stries in mvies can be a quick way fr children t gain life experience and wisdm.
28.Why did the research team chse the film Inside Out?
A.It fcuses n scientific knwledge.
B.It is directed and prduced by Disney.
C.It is based n a girl’s emtinal jurney.
D.It fllws a typical stry-telling structure.
29.Hw did the research team draw their cnclusin?
A.By interviewing children.
B.By cnducting experiments.
C.By referring t previus studies.
D.By making cmparisns between tw grups f children.
30.What were the children asked t d in the study?
A.Share their persnal favrite stries.
B.Repeat tuching scenes f the film.
C.Vice their pinins abut the stry.
D.Cme up with questins n the film.
31.What can be cncluded accrding t the findings?
A.Stries in mvies can increase children’s survival skills.
B.Stries in mvies wuld help children becme mature.
C.Stries in mvies wuld imprve children’s scial interactins.
D.Stries in mvies can make children mre intelligent academically.

Artificial intelligence(Al)has the ptential t develp mre efficient methds f farming in rder t fight glbal warming.
Glbal warming threatens every aspect f ur everyday lives, including crp prductin. It will reduce the sil misture(水分)in areas clse t the equatr accrding t a study. We are already seeing the negative impact f these changed grwing cnditins n ur crp prductin. Climate change harms prer cuntries that d nt have the mney t imprt fd. The result is grwing fd insecurity. Hwever, agriculture is nt just affected by glbal warming—agriculture is part f a vicius(惡性的)cycle in which farming leads t glbal warming, which in turn destrys agricultural prductin. The prcess f clearing land fr agriculture results in widespread defrestatin(毀林)and cntributes t 40 percent f glbal methane prductin. Therefre, t deal with climate change, it is necessary t ensure refrestatin—but hw? What is the path t efficient, envirnmentally-cnscius farming?
This is where AI enters the scene. Farmers use AI fr methds such as precisin agriculture; they can mnitr crp misture, sil cmpsitin, and temperature in grwing areas, enabling farmers t increase prductin by learning hw t take care f their crps and determine the ideal amunt f water t use. Furthermre, this technlgy may help reduce defrestatin by allwing humans t grw fd in urban areas. It culd be especially beneficial fr cuntries in Latin America and the Caribbean, where much f the ppulatin lives in cities.
Hwever, AI is far frm a silver bullet—it culd actually cntribute t glbal warming as well. Due t the large amunt f data that AI needs t prcess, training a single AI releases five times the emissins that an average car wuld give ff during its lifetime. Further, securing access t AI n a glbal scale may pse sme challenges. Cuntries will need experts in the field wh can successfully use the technlgy and Internet cnnectin, neither f which are always readily available. Therefre, there is still a lng way fr develping cuntries t take advantage f the benefits f AI.
Given these cncerns, glbal leaders must cnsider the ptential csts, and the envirnmental cnsequences f data prcessing befre develping AI fr use in agriculture.
32.What can we learn abut tday’s agriculture frm paragraph 2?
A.It is the main challenge f refrestatin.
B.Prer cuntries rely n it mre than befre.
C.It is still dependent n defrestatin fr mre land.
D.It is bth a victim and a cause f glbal warming.
33.Which f the fllwing is cnsistent with precisin agriculture?
A.Building farming cmmunities in cities.
B.Abandning traditinal farming methds.
C.Making the mst f agricultural resurces.
D.Balancing farming with farmers’ everyday lives.
34.Why is it difficult t adpt AI technlgy in agriculture n a glbal scale?
A.There are technical barriers in develping cuntries.
B.The relevant technlgy is still under develpment.
C.The prcess f develping Al is difficult.
D.There is n ne-size-fits-all AI technlgy.
35.What can be a suitable title fr the text?
A.The benefits f agricultural AI
B.The future f farming: AI and agriculture
C.A blck t envirnmentally-cnscius agriculture
D.Glbal warming and agriculture: a vicius cycle

It appears that centuries f free diving have scientifically distinguished the Sama-Bajau. Accrding t research, the Bajau’s spleens(脾臟)are much larger than the average peple’s n land. 39 Besides, the Bajau have als develped excellent underwater visin.
40 The main cause is massive fishing, which has made it increasingly difficult fr the Bajau t make a living and rely n fishing alne. As a cnsequence, mre and mre peple are leaving the seas, and apparently, it’s nly a matter f time befre the Bajau and their amazing qualities disappear.

27.C。 根據(jù)第六段中提到的藝術(shù)家們的擔(dān)憂以及最后一段中Reshi所說(shuō)的話“I wuldn’t even call myself an authr"“The Al is essentially the ghstwriter(代筆者), and the ther Al is the illustratr.”
根據(jù)第二段中的“The stry fllws the ‘her’s jurney’—a classical narrative(敘事的)framewrk, which invlves a her wh ges n an adventure, vercmes challenges, and returns changed. S the research team chse this film.”
29.A. 根據(jù)第二段中的“The researchers cntacted children between 4 and 15years ld after they watched the Disney film Inside Out.”和第三段中的“The research team asked mstly pen-ended questins t encurage the children t share their thughts”可知,研究人員是通過(guò)采訪的方式得出結(jié)論的。
30.C。 根據(jù)第三段中的“The research team asked mstly pen-ended questins t encurage the children t share their thughts, including the key questin: ‘Was there a part f the mvie yu had t think abut?’”
根據(jù)最后一段中的“Altgether, stries in mvies can be a quick way fr children t gain life experience and wisdm.“可知,研究發(fā)現(xiàn),電影故事能加速孩子們思想的成熟。
36.G。根據(jù)空后的“Hwever, there’s little chance f catching up with the Sama-Bajau, wh can stay underwater with a single breath fr quite a lng time.”
37.D。根據(jù)空前的“The Bajau live n lng husebats r small wden huses that are built n the sea, clse t the shre in Sutheast Asia.”
38.E。根據(jù)空后的“In their free time, the kids help arund the huse r play n the beach.” 狈险Z(yǔ)境。
39.C。根據(jù)空前的“…h(huán)ave scientifically distinguished the Sama-Bajau. Accrding t research, the Bajau’s spleens(脾臟)are much larger than the average peple’s n land.”
40.F。根據(jù)后文“As a cnsequence, mre and mre peple are leaving the seas, and apparently, it’s nly a matter f time befre the Bajau and their amazing qualities disappear.”

41.A。 根據(jù)文章首句及后文的“Her mther cllapsed in the huse and her quick 43 saved her mther’s life. She immediately called her father and then called 911.”

47.B.根據(jù)前文的“knw my allergies(過(guò)敏癥), medicatins and all that”可知,此處指關(guān)于Aria母親過(guò)敏史等的信息。

be knwn fr“因……
57.which/and。 此處是which引導(dǎo)非限制性定語(yǔ)從句,修飾先行詞the village , which 在從句中作邏輯主語(yǔ),指代the village;也可以填連詞and,連接并列謂語(yǔ)。
58.traditinal??
59.is held.
