Have yu ever heard f the term ?“seasnal clr analysis”? It is a persnal styling tl that helps peple find clrs that match their natural features, such as skin tne, hair clr and eye clr. This methd divides peple int fur categries — spring, summer, autumn and winter — each with a matching set f clrs t help them lk better.
The prcess was s cmplicated that it tk me an entire weekend just t figure ut which seasn I belng t. Finally, the tl stated that I am a ?“summer persn” and picked the ?“right” clrs fr my hair and clthes. But then came the next challenge: I spent nearly eight hurs and ver 2,000 yuan at the barbershp (理發(fā)店).
Beauty seems t be an increasingly time-cnsuming, expensive and exhausting effrt. The term ?“fu meiyi” (服美役), r beauty duty, was even created t describe this phenmenn and has gained ppularity n Chinese scial media. Many peple debate what shuld be cnsidered part f beauty duty. Sme argue that things like having lng hair, wearing makeup, and spending mney n fashin are unnecessary and that wmen shuld abandn these frivlities (無聊之事) t fcus n building their wealth and status. Others believe that wmen buy clthes and makeup simply because they enjy them, nt because they are trying t be liked by men.
Frm my perspective, t sme extent, we are all influenced by beauty duty because ur views f beauty are inevitably (不可避免地) shaped by sciety’s unrealistic beauty standards. These ideas ften prmte a single, narrw definitin f beauty that is difficult — if nt impssible — fr peple t achieve.
Take me, fr example. I lve the clr black, but accrding t seasnal clr analysis, it desn’t suit me. T appear mre ?“beautiful”, I shuld give up wearing black and nly wear light-clred clthing. This s-called beauty standard ignres persnal preferences and limits self-expressin. Furthermre, it dismisses the variety f beauty in the wrld. Peple cme in all shapes, sizes and clrs. True beauty shuld be abut accepting and celebrating these differences, nt frcing everyne t fllw a single standard.
I believe peple shuld be free t dress hwever they like, as lng as it makes them happy. Hwever, we must be aware f hw beauty standards are created and impsed n us, shaping the way we present urselves — ften withut us even realizing it.
4. What des seasnal clr analysis help peple determine?
A. The clrs that suit them best.
B. The mst ppular clrs fr each seasn.
C. Clthing styles based n their favrite clrs.
D. Persnality traits linked t clr chices.
5. What des the authr believe abut beauty standards?
A. They restrict self-imprvement.B. They encurage scial cmpetitin.
C. They shuld embrace diversity.D. They are based n wealth and status.
6. What des the authr suggest peple d?
A. Avid fllwing fashin trends.B. Priritize cmfrt ver style.
C. Dress in a way that makes them happy.D. Be pen t sciety’s beauty standards.
7. What is the best title f this passage?
A. The Traps f Seasnal Clr Analysis
B. Balancing Persnal Preferences and Beauty Standards
C. Feeling Trapped in Beauty’s Cage
D. The Benefits f Embracing Beauty Standards

Open-surce LLMs are crucial because they make AI develpment easier t access, reduce cmputing csts and help spread advanced technlgy acrss different industries, said Wu Yngming, CEO f Alibaba Grup. Alibaba Clud, the clud cmputing branch f Alibaba Grup, recently intrduced its latest AI mdel, Qwen 2.5-Max. The cmpany said it has imprved abilities in math and prgramming and has dne better than ther leading mdels, like OpenAI’s GPT-4 and DeepSeek’s V3 mdel. US cmputer scientists have develped a new reasning mdel trained fr less than $50 (abut 363 yuan) with the help f Alibaba’s pen-surce technlgy. Other cmpanies like Baidu have als allwed develpers t use their mdels.
Wang Peng, a research fellw at the Beijing Academy f Scial Sciences, said China’s majr strengths in develping AI mdels lie in its large data resurces and varied applicatin scenaris (場景).
Fr example, Alibaba Clud Intelligence is dedicated t investing (投資) in advanced AI tls t help many industries adpt AI technlgies, said Zhu Jingren, its chief technlgy fficer. At present, mre than 300,000 businesses have access t Alibaba’s LLMs, which have a brad range f uses in fields like sftware develpment, drug research, space explratin and manufacturing (制造業(yè)).
Mrever, China’s pen and welcming attitude helps the glbal AI industry grw and advance tgether, said Zhu Keli, funding directr f the China Institute f New Ecnmy. A. They make AI develpment mre accessible, reduce csts and spread technlgy.
B. They increase cmputing csts but spread technlgy faster.
C. They make AI develpment mre difficult but mre reliable.
D. They limit the use f advanced technlgy in different industries.
10. What des the underlined wrd ?“dedicated” in paragraph 6 mean?
A. ppsed.B. cmmitted.C. addicted.D. limited.
11. What is the authr’s attitude twards China’s prgress in develping large language mdels (LLMs)?
A. Neutral.B. Critical.C. Psitive.D. Skeptical.

Despite the fact that parrts are well knwn fr their lng lives and cmplex cgnitin (認(rèn)知), it remains unknwn whether the tw traits (特征) have influenced each ther.
“The prblem has been surcing gd quality data,” said Simen Smeele, a dctral student at the Max Planck Institute f Animal Behavir (MPI-AB) and lead authr f a study published in Prceedings f the Ryal Sciety B that tried t slve this questin.
Scientists frm the MPI-AB and the Max Planck Institute fr Evlutinary Anthrplgy (MPI-EvA) teamed up with Species360 t cmpile data frm ver 130,000 individual parrts surced frm ver 1,000 zs t find the average life span f 217 parrt species.
The analysis revealed an astnishing diversity in life expectancy, ranging frm an average f tw years fr the fig parrt up t an average f 30 years fr the scarlet macaw.
Next, the team tried t determine whether r nt parrts’ renwned cgnitive abilities had any influence n their lngevity. Their results supprt the thery that increased brain size has enabled lnger lifespans. Because brain size relative t bdy size can be an indicatr f intelligence, the findings suggested that the parrts with larger brains were able t survive fr lnger in the wild.
The scientists were surprised that factrs such as diet, r the greater develpmental time required t develp larger brains, did nt lead t lnger average lifespans. “We wuld have expected the develpmental path t play a mre imprtant rle because in primates it is this develpmental cst that explains the link between brain size and lngevity,” said Smeele.
In the future, the team plan t explre if sciality and cultural learning in parrts might have als cntributed t lng lifespans. Smeele said: “Large-brained birds might spend mre time scially learning fraging (覓食) techniques that have been arund fr multiple generatins. This increased learning perid culd ptentially als explain the lnger life spans, as it takes mre time but als makes the fraging repertire (全部技能) mre adaptive.”
12. What did the study aim t find ut abut parrts?
A. The diversity in their life expectancies.
B. The factrs that influence their intelligence.
C. The traits that help them survive in the wild.
D. The link between their cgnitin and life spans.
13. Hw did the researchers carry ut their study?
A. By surveying ver 1,000 zs.B. By examining parrts’ brains.
C. By analyzing the cllected data.D. By bserving parrts’ behavir.
14. Which is a pssible cause f parrts’ lngevity?
A. Their diet.B. Their bdy size.
C Their larger brains.D. Their brains develpment time.
15. What is the last paragraph mainly abut?
A. Supprting evidence fr the research results.
B. Ptential applicatins f the research findings.
C. A further explanatin f the research methds.
