“The way we hld ur phnes can cause strain in certain pints f cntact – causing text claw (手機(jī)手),” Nikla Djrdjevic, a physician in Serbia, tld the team. It affects the elbws t, causing pain in the arm. Scientifically, it is called cubital tunnel syndrme That’s why Mindy has a 90-degree elbw, and her hands lk like she’s always hlding a mbile phne.
Sme peple als cmmented that human evlutin may nt wrk this way. They believe that nly features with actual benefits wuld be kept thrughut the years. Fr example, features that can increase the rate f survival, instead f the negative impact f technlgy.

根據(jù)第一段的最后一句“The cmputer mdel called Mindy may persuade many peple t think twice. A. Detect.發(fā)現(xiàn);B. Apprach.接近;C. Plish. Cntradict. 故選A項(xiàng)。
根據(jù)第四段“Sme peple als cmmented that human evlutin may nt wrk this way. They believe that nly features with actual benefits wuld be kept thrughut the years. Fr example, features that can increase the rate f survival, instead f the negative impact f technlgy. 根據(jù)第五段的“A mdel called Emma was built by researchers in the UK in 2019 t shw hw the way peple wrk at their desks culd change them in 20 years. 可知,Emma不是在美國(guó)建立的,所以A項(xiàng)錯(cuò)誤;第二段對(duì)Mindy的描述沒(méi)有涉及模型Mindy的膚色,所以B項(xiàng)錯(cuò)誤;根據(jù)第三段的“That’s why Mindy has a 90-degree elbw, and her hands lk like she’s always hlding a mbile phne.

Plenty f days, temperatures in Califrnia’s Mjave Desert climb abve 120 degrees Fahrenheit. 400 silvered glass panels, fixed int the western edge f that ht desert, are there t generate heat 15 times that amunt. And, ideally, t help cl the planet t.
Made by the Pasadena-based cmpany Heligen, each 16-square-ft helistat (定日鏡) reflects a kilwatt f sunlight t the tp f a five-stry twer, where it’s absrbed by a receiver. As the little black helistat burns white, it is ver 1,800 degrees. That’s ht enugh t begin manufacturing cement (水泥) and ther industrial prducts—prcesses that typically rely n burning fssil fuels—and t ptentially cut up t 10 percent f glbal greenhuse gas emissins.
Heligen CEO Bill Grss has dreamed f taking advantage f the sun since the 1973 energy crisis, when he sld DIY slar panels. Thse sales helped put him thrugh cllege. Last fall, the cmpany fired up this first array (陣列). “It was a bit like watching a mn landing,” Grss says.
Similar arrays have been used t make electricity and tasty SunChips, and even drill fr il. But thse peak arund 1,000 degrees, because each helistat has t be individually adjusted and can fall ut f rank ver time. With Heligen, cameras at the tp f the twer scan the sky, and image analysis sftware figures ut the best psitin fr each mirrr, which can circle in less than 1/160 f a degree. Grss says such efficiency can deliver heat 20 percent mre cheaply than fssil fuels can.
As prf f cncept, Heligen has set up a kiln (爐) at the tp f the twer t directly heat limestne, a key step in making cement. This year the cmpany plans t link with cmmercial partners that have the large shadwless land required. Grss is als building a receiver that can handle temperatures abve 2,700 degrees. That kind f strng fire can create synthetic hydrgen (合成氫), which culd replace il-based fuels. “Civilizatin depends n cement and steel—ur rads, travel, everything,” Grss says. “We’ve fund a way t clean it up.”

B. It reduces much greenhuse gas emissins.
C. It replaces nuclear fuel in the industrial field.
D. It burns itself t generate synthetic hydrgen.
30. What can we learn frm Heligen CEO Bill Grss?
A. He was excited abut what his cmpany has achieved.
B. He made a breakthrugh in manufacturing cement last fall.
C. He had n related knwledge befre the cmpany establishment.
D. He prmted the cperatin with ther partners in slar energy.
31. What des the last sentence “We’ve fund a way t clean it up.” mean?
A. The slar energy applicatin t prducing prducts is a prmising refrm.
B. We shuld remve the traditinal ways f manufacturing cement and steel.
C. Mre cement and steel shuld be prduced t create advanced civilizatin.
D. Peple need t use il-based fuels t make mre civilizatin-related prducts.
