根據(jù)第一段中的““I wish I grew up back in yur childhd,” my 14-year-ld sn said t me.(“我希望我能回到你的童年,”我14歲的兒子對(duì)我說(shuō)。)”和“My sn’s answer invlves freedm, risk and ver-invlvement f adults in kids’ lives.(我兒子的回答涉及自由、風(fēng)險(xiǎn)和成年人對(duì)孩子生活的過度介入。)”
根據(jù)第二段中的“My sn knws that if he and his friends try t jump ff the bridge and swim as his dad did many times, the mst likely utcme (結(jié)果) is that sme kind adults will call the plice.(我兒子知道,如果他和他的朋友們像他爸爸那樣多次從橋上跳下去游泳,最有可能的結(jié)果是某個(gè)好心的成年人會(huì)打電話給警察。)”

根據(jù)首段中作者介紹兒子的愿望引出本文講述的話題,結(jié)合第三段中的“Hwever, he, like s many ther American bys and girls, is prevented by a culture that seems t have raised safety t the highest regard, withut cnsidering hw a lack f risk might negatively affect kids’ develpment.(然而,像許多其他美國(guó)男孩和女孩一樣,他被一種似乎把安全提升到最高的文化所阻礙,而沒有考慮到缺乏風(fēng)險(xiǎn)可能對(duì)孩子的發(fā)展產(chǎn)生怎樣的負(fù)面影響。)”可知,作者認(rèn)為安全放到第一位似乎是阻止了孩子們的發(fā)展,甚至是沒有考慮到缺乏風(fēng)險(xiǎn)對(duì)孩子產(chǎn)生的負(fù)面影響,根據(jù)第四段中的“Let kids try sme risky things — cutting the lawn; using tls and sharp knives; starting a fire; cking — under the supervisin (監(jiān)管) f an adult wh tells them safety rules. 可知,作者建議家長(zhǎng)在孩子們做危險(xiǎn)的事情時(shí)監(jiān)督他們,結(jié)合尾段“Their desire t deal with challenges and take risks will serve them well in the years t cme.(他們應(yīng)對(duì)挑戰(zhàn)和承擔(dān)風(fēng)險(xiǎn)的愿望將在未來(lái)的歲月中為他們提供良好的服務(wù)。)” 故選A項(xiàng)

The researchers created artificial versins f these chemicals, which they call “gympietides”.
Sure enugh, when the scientists injected mice with gympietides, the mice licked (舔) the places where they’d been injected, which shwed that they hurt in thse places. When the scientists studied the way gympietides were built, they fund that they frmed a knt-like (扭結(jié)的) shape. The shape makes the chemicals very stable, which helps explain why the pain stays s lng.
The knt-like shape f gympietides was similar t the shape f pisns prduced by pisnus spiders and cne snails. The scientists were surprised t see three very different kinds f life all using similar pisns. Spiders and cne snails carry pisns because they catch fd by stinging ther creatures. It’s nt clear hw stinging helps the gympie-gympie tree.
The scientists als discvered gympietides seem t cause everlasting changes t the channels in sensry neurns (感覺神經(jīng)元). This actin als helps t explanatin why the pain lasts s lng.
“By understanding hw this pisn wrks, we hpe t prvide better treatment fr thse wh have been stung by the plant, t ease r stp the pain,” said Vetter.
