This 34-year-ld “bk dctr” has been wrking in the restratin department fr ancient bks at the Natinal Library f China in Beijing, since she finished her cultural relic prtectin studies curse at Peking University in 2015.Up t nw, she has been engaged in restring mre than 100 ancient cultural relies.
At present, Sng and her clleagues are wrking n restring a cpy f Yngle Dadian, an encyclpedia created in 1408. Unfrtunately, mst f its bks that have survived until tday have suffered damage t their riginal binding. “T restre them t their riginal frm, we need t gather infrmatin frm varius surces, such as images and texts, befre we can make sure their riginal binding style and repair them accrdingly,” she explained.
