Mark's class planted fruits and vegetables in the schl's garden. Mark liked watering them and he especially liked watching the plants grw. One mrning, Mark stpped t check the garden. Mr. James led his class ut t the garden. “Insects called aphids(蚜蟲)are eating ur cabbage,” he said. “We can use what we knw abut fd chains(鏈) t wrk ut the prblem.”
Mr. James said and then he gt clse t the cabbage. He carefully pened the small bx, and ladybugs(瓢蟲)flew ut! “Ladybugs?” asked Mark. “Hw can they help?”
Mr. James lked at Mark and ther students wh had the same surprising expressins. He pinted t the cabbage and said, “Cabbage is a prducer, and aphids are custmers that are eating the cabbage. Ladybugs are custmers, t. But they like t eat aphids. Let's just wait and see what will happen ver the next few days.”
Fr the next week, Mark watched as the aphids died ff day by day. One mrning, he came t the garden t study the cabbage. He saw that it lked healthy and strng. There were n mre aphids n it, either! What Mr. James did really wrked!
