Severn Suzuki is the daughter f the famus envirnmental scientist David Suzuki. But the Canadian wman has becme an envirnmentalist herself.

Hwever, sme language experts are against this frm f cmmunicatin. They cnsider it a step back int the dark ages f illiteracy(沒(méi)文化). Emjis, they say, are making us dumb____cmmunicatrs. Peple are depending n these "picture characters", rather than wrds, t express their feelings.
I want t challenge this pint f view. I'm afraid these experts have misunderstd hw cmmunicatin wrks.
Emjis aren't replacing language. Instead, they are making ur message mre understandable by filling in the emtinal signals(感情符號(hào)). Here is an example. Withut an emji, what I mean by the fllwing message wuld be puzzling: "Hey, I fell dwn and banged(磕) my head n the kitchen wall." My addressee(收信人) might have difficulty wrking ut my true feelings.
