A Universty Prfessr Turns Int an Astrnaut
Gui Haicha is a yung prfessr at Beihang University. On May 30, 2023, he arrived at China’s space statin by Shenzhu XVI spacecraft. He has becme an idl fr numerus peple in China vernight.
Gui grew up in a rural family in Shi Dian Cunty, Yunnan Prvince. He lved science as a child. He kept a set f encyclpedias （百科全書）frm which he gained a lt f knwledge abut space. “I wasted n time in applying,” Gui remembered the mment when he fund the ntice. In 2018, China made a plan t recruit(招募) its third grup f astrnauts. After several runds f selectin fr mre than tw years, Gui std ut amng abut 2,500 candidates and became ne f the fur selected paylad experts.
Over the past few years, Gui has gt survival training (生存訓(xùn)練) in deserts and been trained t handle thse cmplex(復(fù)雜的) equipment (設(shè)備). He learned t d experiments in the space envirnment.
