With a thirst fr a new challenge, I decided t begin my language jurney and my nly regret is that I didn’t start earlier. Since starting t learn, I have made gd prgress. Learning t speak Chinese isn’t as insurmuntable as I nce thught. When I speak t native speakers in Chinese, they almst always understand me. I als find it nt t difficult t remember characters and I am nw even able t write ver 400 characters. I find studying the language relaxing and wrthwhile, particularly writing the characters. The thing I find mst challenging is listening since native speakers talk at such a speed. I can’t always understand what’s been said, but my weekly nline language exchanges help with this greatly.
Despite my prgress, it has still been the challenge I desire and has taken a lt f hard wrk. Furthermre, there is a lng way t g befre I reach my gal f fluency. The key t prgress is t be patient and persistent (堅(jiān)持不懈的). The satisfactin that cmes frm simple things like rdering fd in Chinese, buying things n the Internet r cmmunicating with a taxi driver makes all the hard wrk wrth it.
My biggest takeaway frm learning Chinese is that it’s nt nly dable but can als be enjyable. Learning Chinese nt nly helped me in day-t-day life, but deepened my cultural understanding f such a clrful and beautiful cuntry. Cnsidering where I am nw, cmpared t tw years ag, as lng as I keep studying hard, I can image a time when I’ll be able t read famus Chinese nvels nt in English but in the riginal text.
