In rder t lead the river int the city fr irrigatin (灌溉) in ancient Luyang, the fficials built a canal branch by separating a nrthwest-sutheast river. With ne in eight peple wrldwide threatened by a heat wave in Suth Asia that's already taken clse t 100 lives, it's time we shuld recgnize that the climate crisis is a health crisis.
This is nt an islated issue. In Suth Africa, recent flds tk ver 400 lives, and in place like Clmbia, health and fd security are at risk as flds displace cmmunities and trigger disease utbreaks. Accrding t the WHO, a quarter f a millin peple are expected t die every year frm climate change between 2030 and 2050 if we d nthing abut it.
Climate change affects the determinants f health——clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient fd, and secure shelter. Accrding t the recent IPCC Climate Change Reprt, climate change has harmful impacts n human health, ranging frm death frm extreme events t illness frm increasing temperatures. And fr the first time ever, the reprt includes mental health as a key area impacted by the climate crisis, nting that climate change has affected physical and mental health f peple glbally.
These irreversible (不可逆轉(zhuǎn)的)damages frce us t rethink climate and health. Hwever, when yu think abut it as a whle, the crisis is amazingly cmplex. In places like Egypt, peple need air-cnditiners t survive the120-plus degree days. But mre AC means mre greenhuse gases. S, we need t cnsider ecnmic develpment, renewable energy, and reductin f pllutants that are literally pisning ur planet.
The gd news is that we are making prgress. With funding frm the Glbal Envirnment Facility Special Climate Change Fund, WHO supprted lcal gvernments t pilt climate change adaptatin effrts t prtect human health. In Barbads, cmmunity-based public health campaigns supprted the safe use f wastewater. In Bhutan, the gvernment has advanced its ability t predict climate-sensitive infectius diseases. And in China, three pilt cities have implemented a heat-health warning system.
Millins f lives hang in the balance. It's time we shuld step up and make climate-health actin a glbal pririty. This is ur investment in planet Earth, in future generatins and in a better wrld.

I've chatted with many unhappy emplyees, finding ne big reasn is that they aren't aware f what will truly matter t them when chsing a jb. Salaries and prmtins are imprtant, but nt enugh. T identify a satisfying jb, peple shuld be thinking abut ffice mrale and ding wrk that is interesting and fun.
My clleague Kaitlin Wlley and I asked a large grup f emplyees what made them like their present jbs, and what factrs wuld cause them t like future jbs.
Unsurprisingly, we fund prmtins and raises were imprtant fr peple bth in their current jb and in applying fr future jbs. What was interesting, thugh, was that the majrity cared a lt abut present benefits (such as ding smething with the peple yu like) in their current jb, but they expected nt t care very much abut thse things in their future jbs.
A basic insight frm behaviral science is that peple care abut the present mainly in the present, but dn't really care abut it in advance. This natural human tendency has imprtant cnsequences. They ften chse the wrng jb r prject and end up regretting it. But keep in mind that if there is ne thing that is certain abut the future, it is that it will ne day be the present.
Hw can we use insights frm behaviral science t increase jb satisfactin? We have develped a three- step apprach. First, make sure yu chse a career that yu enjy pursuing, ne that ffers present benefits t yu. Secnd, add present benefits t yur wrking hurs. Third, bring t mind thse present benefits that d exist at yur wrk. Yu can mtivate yurself t engage in yur wrk by directing attentin t the psitive aspects f yur tasks.
The bttm line is that jb satisfactin is t rare, and the lack f it is hurting us emtinally and financially. Many years f research have taught us that peple feel energized when the prcess f ding smething becmes the gal f ding it. We can apply this principle t increase satisfactin at wrk by selecting satisfying jbs.
32. What's the functin f Paragraph 1?
A. Giving an example. B. Making a cmparisn.
C. Prpsing a definitin. D. Presenting an argument.
33. Hw did the authr feel abut the findings?
A. There is smething surprising. B. There is smething expected.
C. There is smething disappinting. D. There is smething satisfying.
34. What can we infer frm the last paragraph?
A. It is impssible t find jb satisfactin at wrk.
B. An unpleasant bss might make yu feel upset.
C. Peple unsatisfied with their wrk may get int debt.
D. Selecting a satisfying jb can increase jb satisfactin.
35. What is the text mainly abut?
A. Telling hw t chse a satisfying jb.
B. Describing the present situatins f wrking.
C. Intrducing the knwledge f behaviral science.
D. Explaining the differences between the current and future jbs.

Hw t Learn frm Regrets
Life is full f regrets. Unanalyzed and unmanaged, any variety f regret can be pisn fr yur well-being. The trick is t acknwledge it and use it fr learning and imprvement. 28. 根據(jù)第一段“it's time we recgnize that the climate crisis is a health crisis.
末段第二句“It's time we step up and make climate health actin a glbal pririty. ”中 pririty attach great imprtance t為同義短語, 故選D。
32-35 DABA
第二段首句關(guān)鍵詞unsurprisingly 和第二句“What was interesting, thugh, their future jbs.
B項(xiàng)意為“一個(gè)不好相處的老板會(huì)讓你情緒低落”, 可由末段首句“it is hurting us emtinally and financially”推出, 故選B。
37. 細(xì)節(jié)句. F項(xiàng)中ù代替上文中的ghst, 下文中的 write dwn、list 和F項(xiàng)中make a list f yur regrets語又一致故選F。
根據(jù)第三段最后一句“Nw is the time t relieve...”, 本段主要強(qiáng)調(diào)在犯錯(cuò)誤之后, 需要學(xué)會(huì)原諒自己和緩解懲罰, 故選 A。
上文“if yu never experienced regret...”

sth.
