Frequent goodbyes to her family come hand-in-hand with Wang Yaping's tough training. This time, however, her goodbye sparked joy in her 5-year-old daughter's eyes as she was “shooting for the stars” even if this was her longest separation from her mother. Wang took part in the Shenzhou-13 crewed task on Oct. 16. She became the first woman to enter China's space station.
Born in 1980 to a farmer family in Shandong Province, Wang loved jogging and was a high-scoring forward on the basketball court in school. In 1997, Wang was encouraged to register for the pilot recruitment program by her classmates because she was good at sports. In fact, she had been considering applying to teaching college.
Given her strong build and ability to stay calm under pressure, Wang passed all tests. After four years of systemic education and tough training, Wang eventually learned to fly four different types of aircraft before graduation.
Wang Yaping's dream of becoming an astronaut was inspired by Yang Liwei's 2003 space flight. She desired to become a female going into space. In May 2010, Wang was elected as one of China's female astronauts, The joy of being selected did not last long as the even tougher training quickly sank in.
She had to stand eight times the force of gravity in a spinning centrifuge. Blood can't flow to the brain properly, causing a temporary lack of oxygen and even blindness. Wang ever volunteered to be held to the same standards as her male trainees.
Her efforts were not in vain. Wang became a crew member of the Shenzhou-10 space task in 2013. She earned the title of China's first space teacher after giving a space lecture to students from n orbit above the Earth's surface.
A team of Chinese university students specializing in aerospace, art, architecture and music translated universe rays into music. They said the project was inspired by Wang's live space lecture, when they were teenagers.
4. Why was Wang's daughter happy this time?
A. Wang promised to play games with her.
B. Wang would come back sooner than usual.
C. Wang's training would be less hard than before.
D. Wang would fly into space for an honourable task.
5. What had Wang Yaping been planning to become when she was in high school?
A. A teacher. B. An astronaut. C. An athlete. D. A soldier.
6. What kind of person is Wang according to the text?
A. Sociable and intelligent. B. Determined and ambitious.
C. Generous and strong-willed. D. Confident and warm-hearted
7. What can be inferred from the text?
A. Space knowledge has been popularized in universities.
B. Most teenagers will choose astronauts as future occupation.
C. The flame for space interest has been lit in young generation.

Email has brought the art of letter writing back to life, but some experts think the resulting spread of bad English does more harm than good.
Email is a form of communication that is changing, for the worse, the way we write and use language, say some communication researchers. It is also changing the way we interact(交流) and build relationship. These are a few of the recently recognized features of email, say experts, which should cause individuals and organizations to rethink the way they use email.
“Email has increased the spread of careless writing habits,” says Naomi Baron, a professor of linguistics(語言學(xué)) at an American university. She says the poor spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure of emails reflect(反映) a growing unconcern about the way we write.
Baron argues that we shouldn’t forgive and forget the poor writing often shown in email. “The more we use email and its tasteless writing, the more it becomes the normal way of writing,” the professor says.
Others say that despite its poor writing, email has finished what several generations of English teachers couldn’t: it has made writing fashionable again.
“Email is a critical new communication technology.” says Ian Lancashire, a professor of English at Toronto University. “It fills the gap between spoken language and the formal methods of writing that existed before email. It is the purest form of written speech.”
Lancashire says email has the mysterious ability to get people who are usually scared by writing to get their thoughts flowing easily onto a blank screen. He says this is because of email’s close similarity to speech. “It’s like a circle of four or five people around a campfire,” he says.
Still, he accepts that this new-found freedom to express themselves often gets people into trouble. Emails sent in a day almost exceed(超過) the number of letters mailed in a year. But more people are recognizing the content of a typical email message is not often exact.
8. From what Baron says in the third paragraph we can see that ________.
A. careless people use email more than careful people
B. email requires people to change their native language
C. professors in universities don’t need to use email
D. people communicate by email full of mistakes
9. What does the underlined word “it” (in Paragraph 4) refer to?
A. The poor writing. B. Email.
C. The good writing. D. A new communication technology.
10. In Lancashire’s opinion, email is a wonderful technology because _______.
A. it can be useful all over the world
B. it is the fastest way to communicate
C. we can express ourselves in a free way
D. we can save a lot of paper
11. This passage mainly shows us that ______.
A. people should stop using email to communicate
B. experts hold different opinions about email writing
C. Americans only use email to communicate
D. email makes people lose interest in English
D 9. A 10. C 11. B

根據(jù)第三段中的“She says the poor spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure of emails reflect(反映) a growing unconcern about the way we write.(她說郵件糟糕的拼寫、語法、發(fā)音和句子結(jié)構(gòu)反映了我們對書寫越來越不重視)”可知,人們用滿是錯誤的郵件進行交流。
根據(jù)第四段中的“Baron argues that we shouldn’t forgive and forget the poor writing often shown in email. The more we use email and its tasteless writing, the more it becomes the normal way of writing,(巴倫認為,我們不應(yīng)該原諒和忘記電子郵件中經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)的糟糕的文字。我們使用電子郵件的次數(shù)越多,寫得越乏味,它就越成為正常的寫作方式) ”可知,it指the poor writing。故選A

Some scientists have traced the increase in earthquakes, especially in areas not known for the presence of fault lines or past seismic (地震的) activity, to human actions. The idea of humans causing earthquakes may seem strange at first. After all, you can run around your backyard and jump up and down as you want, and the ground isn’t going to start shaking. However, scientists have identified a variety of large scale human activities that can result in earthquakes.
Scientists have confirmed over 700 places where human activities have caused earthquakes over the last century. While many human-related earthquakes are mild and don’t cause much damage, some of them can be serious and dangerous. In fact, scientists believe human activity has caused earthquakes with magnitudes as high as 7.9 on the Richter scale.
Scientists believe most human-related earthquakes are the result of mining. As companies drill deeper and deeper below Earth’s surface to get natural resources, holes left behind can cause instability that leads to collapses that cause earthquakes. Another human activity leading to earthquakes is fracking (水力壓裂) for oil and gas, including the high pressure waste water processing that usually goes with fracking. In this process, water, sand and chemicals are pressed underground under high pressure to break rocks to release natural resources.
Building large dams can also cause earthquakes. For example, about 80, 000 people died in China in 2008 as a result of a 7.9-magnitude earthquake caused by 320 million tons of water that had been collected in the Zipingpu Reservoir after a large dam was built over a known fault line.
These aren’t the only human activities that can result in earthquakes, though. Scientists point out that earthquakes can also be caused by other human activities, such as construction of skyscrapers and nuclear explosions.
12. What does the underlined part “fault lines” in Paragraph 1 refer to?
A. Regions with active human actions. B. Places associated with natural balance.
C. Zones where natural resources are rich. D. Areas where earthquakes tend to happen.
13. What do mining and oil producing have in common?
A. They break the balance of nature. B. They destroy the stability of rocks.
C. They use high pressure to get resources. D. They do much damage to Earth’s surface.
14. What can be inferred from Paragraph 4?
A. The 2008 earthquake is the worst in history. B. Construction of dams should be stopped.
C. Tons of water must cause earthquakes. D. The location of a dam matters much.
15. What does the text mainly tell us?
A. Nature punishes humans by means of earthquakes. B. Progress has been made on earthquake research.
C. Humans are to blame for some earthquakes. D. Earthquakes are no longer nature-made.
D 13. B 14. D 15. C

根據(jù)第三段關(guān)鍵句“As companies drill deeper and deeper below Earth’s surface to get natural resources, holes left behind can cause instability that leads to collapses that cause earthquakes.”(隨著公司在地球表面下越來越深地鉆探以獲取自然資源,留下的洞可能導(dǎo)致不穩(wěn)定,導(dǎo)致崩塌,引發(fā)地震。)可知,采礦留下的洞可能導(dǎo)致巖石不穩(wěn)定,引發(fā)地震;再根據(jù)第三段關(guān)鍵句“In this process, water, sand and chemicals are pressed underground under high pressure to break rocks to release natural resources.”(在這個過程中,水、沙子和化學(xué)物質(zhì)在高壓下被壓入地下,以破碎巖石,釋放自然資源。)
根據(jù)第四段內(nèi)容“Building large dams can also cause earthquakes. For example, about 80, 000 people died in China in 2008 as a result of a 7.9-magnitude earthquake caused by 320 million tons of water that had been collected in the Zipingpu Reservoir after a large dam was built over a known fault line.”(建造大型水壩也會引起地震。

Apart from our city’s beautiful scenery, it is a unique local street food that also attracts visitors from all around the world.
【點睛】[高分句型1] It is transportation that matters a lot, so firstly I would like to suggest that you ride shared bikes to explore the city, which is convenient and money-saving.
[高分句型2] If I were you, I would go to the night market where not only can you experience local eating habit but also you can taste many street foods.
