A few months ago I was at a bus stop in town in the evening. The bus came on time and I took the window seat. The bus route was by the seashore and I was enjoying the breeze(微風) while watching the sea waves. After a few minutes the bus made its next stop. A young boy and a girl got on. They were standing on my left when the bus pulled off. I looked at them curiously and realized that all the window seats were occupied(占據). They could sit but not together. Suddenly a different wave passed through my body and my inner mind gave me the advice to get up. I got up and offered them my seat. The young lady smiled kindly and said thanks. I occupied another seat and we parted our ways. I don’t remember whether I got off the bus before them or not.
Months passed by. Suddenly one day while I was standing at the same bus stop waiting some time for the bus to arrive I heard a voice.
“Excuse me, Uncle.” I looked in the direction of the voice. It was a beautiful young lady.
Puzzled, I said, “I do not recognize you.”
She said, “Do you remember you gave us your window seat?”
Puzzled, I said, “Maybe, but what is so great in that?”
She said, “If you had not given your seat that day, perhaps I would have not sat with my friend. By sitting together it helped us bridge a misunderstanding that had been between us forever. Do you know we are getting married next month?”
“Good! God bless both of you,” I replied.

????Scientists may have found a way to reduce shortage of type O blood. Type O is the kind of blood that hospitals most often need. What the researchers are testing is an easier way to make type O blood out of other kinds of blood.
????There are four main kinds of blood. Most people born with one of these four: Type A, Type B, Type AB or Type O. Type O can be safely given to anyone. So it is commonly used when a person is injured or sick and has to have blood.
????Type O is the most common blood group. But the supplies of it available in hospitals and blood banks are usually limited. This is because of the high demand for it. Type O blood is used in emergencies when there is no time to identify the patient’s blood type.
????Giving A, B or AB to someone with a different blood type, including O, can cause a bad reaction by the person’s defense system. Their immune system can reject the blood. This immune reaction can be deadly.
????The differences among blood types are linked to whether or not red blood cells contain certain kinds of sugar molecules. These molecules are found on the surface of the cells. They are known as antigens(抗原). These antigens are found with type A, B and AB blood but not with type O.
????More than twenty-five years ago, scientists found that the antigens could be removed to create what they called universal-type cells. They could be removed with chemicals called enzymes(酶). But large amounts of enzymes were required to make the change.
????Doctor Henrik Clausen of the University of Copenhagen in Denmark led the study. The next step, he says, is to complete safety tests. The team is working with the American company ZymeQuest to test the new method. If it meets safety requirements(要求) and is not too costly, it could become a widely used life-saving tool to increase the supply of universal blood.
8、How do scientists deal with the problem of lacking type O blood?
A.Make type O blood out of other kinds of blood.
B.Make the most of the present type O blood.
C.Develop new ways of using type O blood.
D.Appeal to more people to donate type O blood.
9、What make people have different kinds of blood?
A.Sugar molecules in red blood cells.
    B.People's different living conditions.
C.The variety of people's cells and genes.
    D.People's various immune systems.
10、What can we infer from the text?
A.Antigens could easily be removed to create universal blood.
B.A Danish company wanted to involve itself in studying blood.
C.Type O blood can be safely given to anyone.
D.The new method is not safe enough to be put into use in hospitals now.
11、What is the best title for the text?
A.Four different kinds of blood. B.A new way to make type O blood.
C.The latest research on blood type. D.Find the proper type of blood.
China will allow all couples to have three children, ending a two-child policy. Children born in the past four decades had the luck of being the center of their parents’ attention. The entire family’s resources were poured into their education and well-being.
However, when the same resources are divided between two or three children, the amount distributed to each one is going to decline.
According to the Hangzhou Daily, when there are three children in the family, parents tend to choose public schools instead of private schools, which are usually more expensive. Each child signs up for fewer after-school training classes.
But having a second or third child may cure some deep-rooted problems in China’s traditional family education.
Having two children in the family can help to prevent one child being spoiled by too much attention, according to People’s Daily. It also spares the only child from the pressure of shouldering parental expectations all alone. Taking care of a sibling(兄弟, 姊妹) also enables children to gain a sense of responsibility, cooperation, obedience and caring.
China’s public education system is also expected to change. Currently, there are not enough seats in kindergarten and schools to accommodate the potential increase in children.
“It’s not only the enrollment capacity(錄取容量) of educational institutions that will feel the pressure. People are also placing more stress on the quality of education” Peng Xizhe, director of the Population and Development Research Policy Center at Fudan University, told China Education Daily.
He predicts the government may have to put in more funds to support the educational system as a result of the new family planning measure.
12、What can children benefit from a two-child family?
    A.They can have less pressure.
B.They can study in private schools.
C.They can get much more attention.
D.They can take more after-school training classes.
13、Which of the following words can replace the underlined word “accommodate”?
    A.hold B.adapt C.solve D.consider
14、What can we infer from Peng Xizhe’s words?
A.People are placing more emphasis on the quality of education.
B.The government may have to invest more to support the educational system.
C.The new family planning measure will challenge the current educational system.
D.The educational institutions will feel the pressure that their capacity is not enough.
15、What is the purpose of this text?
A.To show benefits of owning two children.
B.To persuade people to bear more children.
C.To encourage people to have only one child.
D.To introduce the impact of two-child policy.

Two years I broke my arm playing football. injury was quite painful and I couldn’t move my arm a month. I hated that.
癰e stupid to do sth.”
完整句子應該為"I am very fit",有"and"連接,所以可以省略主語“I”。
所以在"arm"和"a"之間添上“for”。
