Unit 4【板塊要點】教學(xué)目標(biāo)    1. 掌握本課出現(xiàn)的新單詞和短語句型。2. 讀懂文章,了解Spud Webb的成長過程奮斗歷程.。3. 學(xué)習(xí)積極向上,奮力拼搏的精神。教學(xué)重點、難點如何運用不同的閱讀方法獲取主要信息。 二、詞匯、短語 1.Succeed   Vi. 成功succeed in doing sth. 成功地做某事successful  adj. 成功的  She is a successful dancer. 她是一個成功的舞蹈家。success    n. 成功 ---How about the charity show?---It was a success.---慈善表演怎么樣? --- 很成功。2.although 作連詞,意為盡管,雖然,常用來引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句。although與 though 區(qū)別:(1)       作連詞,二者可互換,although比 though 更正式。(2)       although不用作副詞,though可用作副詞,常放在句末,意為可是,不過(3)       在as though好像,仿佛與even though即使,縱然等固定短語中不能用although替換though.3.As a result 用于引出結(jié)果,常用于兩個句子之間,其中一個是另一個的結(jié)果,且前后要用標(biāo)點符號與兩個句子隔開,意為結(jié)果是。It snowed heavily this morning. As a result, I was late.今天早上雪下得很大。所以,我遲到了。As a result of 意為由于,因為,相當(dāng)于because of .He was late as a result of the heavy snow.= He was late because of the heavy snow.他遲到是由于大雪所造成的。4.name ( v.&n.)v. 給…命名 name sb.給某人命               name after 以…命名  n.名字    in the name of 以……的名義5.achieve  vachieve a balance between A and Bachievement  nHis great achievement brought him to the attention of all the leaders.   6.matter v. 有關(guān)系、要緊、有妨礙What does it matter?  這有什么要緊嗎?It doesnt matter this time. But come to school earlier next time.   三、句型He was much smaller than the other kids.He was the smallest of all the kids.While attending junior high, Spud tried out for the school team, but he was refused to play at first because he was too small.While attending While he was attendingbe refused to do sth. 被拒絕做某事refuse 作動詞,意為拒絕,后面接名詞或者動詞不定式作賓語。He refused to change his mind. 他拒絕改變主意。refuse sb sth 拒絕給某人某物注意:refuse 后不能接動名詞或賓語從句go on to do sth.繼續(xù)做另外一件事   go on doing sth.  繼續(xù)做原來做的事 go on with sth. 繼續(xù)某事After reading the text, the students went on to do some exercises.After having a rest, we went on having our lessons.He took a cup of tea, and went on with the story.
